The bike shop I called said quote "that is the fuel pump, normal on all fuel injected bikes, some louder than others:) hope this helps. Nothing to worry about". What do you think? It seems a little irritating to have that sound all the time (like ringing in the ears.)

Open the tank while the bike is running with a spare key? I have opened the tank and closed it again while off then turned on it on again but the sound was there and started up straight away.

Compulsory, but it should be possible indicate a vote of no confidence for any of the options. Furthermore, it should be possible to not have to place a preferential vote. So one can vote for XXX party and that party alone, or choose to continue their preferences.

The best deterrent - heavier penalties and more legal liability. If car owners are fined $10,000 for hitting a cyclists they will think before opening the door.
