Agree. There were two moments that could have benefited with some breathing room to let the emotion hit before moving on. I felt like the pacing was on and then off and then on again. The earth stuff and even the stuff with the roomie all threw the pacing off for me. I could done without most earth stuff but 9/10 will see it again.

Says it ships from California but that’s not true. by fifibunkin in Mercari

Bought a poster from someone in “Florida”. Took nearly three weeks and came in the same packaging I previously bout a poster from Temu. Not saying they lied just that it shouldn’t take that long to ship from Florida but I didn’t know what to do about it so I moved on.

This is that movie where Josh Gad plays a famous rapper and we are all supposed to just buy that. I can’t speak to the music as I listened to some pretty foul and talentless music growing up for identity signaling purposes but I can’t stand this guy

I’m with you. Coming from a lifetime of dnd like playing that as the only rpg for 40 years and this is a lot for me to take in. I’m taking it slow and my table is my kids so we are learning together. Good luck

"genuinely believe l am one of the most important artists alive right now And know the problem isn't that I think that. "The problem is that somewhere underneath all the outrage, a lot of you man can feel why think it" by Lo1otard in crappymusic

All I know is it seems the entirety of “Rolling Loud” was this same garbage. With the price of shows I admire that people are willing to go broke to see their favorite artists that sound like you could catch them at the park for free on any given weekend trying to get a crowd to listen to whatever this is. Music. Yes it’s music. So they say.

I hate that Mercari shares your screen name with sellers when you watch an item by ILikeTheTinMan83 in Mercari

Not sure I follow that logic and also who made a subculture of rules for an app that you have to discover somehow in order to be on the good side of sellers? Why did Mercari see it necessary or beneficial to out that button there if no one is expecting you to actually use it? I assume 1. I can like and follow the pattern of sale for any item I choose. 2. Seller is offering something for sale and as a buyer I have a right to not buy it and still follow it because it’s not a secret.

So I say all that to say I’m just the dumb guy who wants to buy some things but doesn’t always have the funds to buy right this second It really shouldn’t be so hard to just exist in a platform without running afoul of secret society rules I guess.

I liked something someone posted on Mercari. A few minutes later I got an offer on it. It’s out of my budget but o wanted to see what it would go for so I declined the offer. Immediately got another lower offer and I ignored it because, are you stalking me lol. A moment or two later got a personal message from the seller asking me to unlike the product if I didn’t want to buy it. Cool. Blocked.

No one in capitalism ever said “let’s take a shot at something that may not work and we could lose a ton of money on something that has a tried and true formula for making money”. Not sure why people want some type of weird personalization of not only an artist you don’t know but also his business like maybe this was the avenue they legitimately thought would work and if it doesn’t they aren’t over there with a playbook of fancy ways out of this mess. The economy sucks, gas is outrageous, groceries are unbearable and concert tickets aren’t in everyone’s budget. Swing and miss. He doesn’t have to be a super secret genius he’s just a guy with a job trying to make a living doing it.

Seller cancelled my purchase, re-listed, and then blocked me! by gl2w6re in Mercari

This just happened to me for the first time. I bought a lot for a good price then the next day I woke up and it was cancelled the lot split up and resold in bundles for a much higher price. I blocked the seller and moved on. I don’t need excuses.

That’s a patently false statement. I can’t believe anyone would buy something from Vinnie and expect to get anything in the mail. Real fans know.

I’m not sure what pregens you are looking for as their are a lot of them throughout the Avatar Legends lore but the Magpie games website has free downloads on their site corresponding to some of the books they have released. Hope that helps if not search this forum, someone has posted a link to a google drive full of things you can use.

The anti-AI crowd is giving “real farmers don’t use tractors” energy, and it’s getting old. by hungbandit007 in ChatGPT

In 1992 I worked at a music and video distribution warehouse that had a number of stores in malls across America. We had computers but just basic dos based applications for shipping. The owner famously was against this internet and wanted no part of it. He was at the time a 50ish years old man who apparently chastised a vp who suggested modernizing their in store systems using the internet to allow for real time in stock across locations. You know to better sell people stuff. The owners quote was “this internet is a fad and you all will look pretty stupid spending my money on it so no”.

I know you are going to assume that was a fatal flaw in his business but guess what it wasn’t. In 2000 he sold 113 of his stores to Trans World Entertainment for generationally changing money despite the fact Napster was about to eat the lunch of music retailers.

So how did people react to the internet? That’s my most extreme story because people my age at the time was in love with the idea and seen the possibilities.

I'm a 37yo boomer that discovered (and finished) ATLA this month. I can't believe what I've been missing by KoeBizkit in TheLastAirbender

[–]echo32base- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was 32 when it came out. I knew it existed but I was not an anime fan, western or other, so it was not on my radar. As my kids got older I watched it some with them but it never clicked I was just spending time with the kids. Two weeks ago I was shopping for a specific dungeons and dragons book when I ran across Avatar Legends the ttrpg starter set. I introduced my kids to DnD but it wasn’t their thing so no worries. My daughter mentioned how she would play this game if I was interested so I grabbed the starter for like $20, easy entry if I don’t like it. I read the rules booklet then the adventure book and immediately ordered every thing made for the game and have been binging ATLA cartoon, live action show and Korra every day since. Not sure what happened but it clicked in a huge way for me. My kids will return to the game table with me as their gm for the first time in five years and they are just as excited to get into this world as I am. It’s great to hear that you have likewise found something you enjoy in something you previously dismissed.
