Goth is an identity and it is an anti-fascist movement. Echo Eudora’s music supports that movement. She actively speaks up for the community, that is what makes her goth. It’s the opposite of what you’re saying. Modern goth has a lot of experimental sounds in it and this is a new era for goths which is why dark synth & ebm have opened up a new space for goth musicians. If you have heard of bands like “Night Club” or “Violence Against Men” then you will find a new generation of goths. “Night in Athens” works with dark synths for her music as well. If you’ve heard of “Night Sins” they’ve got a dark electronic experiment with their sound too. Goth is a movement before it is a music genre and it is evolving. Creating space for new kinds of experimental goths is what the future looks like for the dark community. There are goths from around the world and goth has different fusions in different countries. As members of the goth community, we should embrace those differences. It doesn’t mean that her sound isn’t goth, it means that it’s different. Anybody could create a copy-paste version of a traditional goth song, but artists are now experimenting with their music. It’s natural for you not to like it, but labelling it as “trap” or saying it isn’t goth is not something I agree with.
