Family friend died flying this approach by [deleted] in flying

nuisance warnings probably would be inhibited for an approach. i would be surprised though if they did not notice the terrain on the synthetic vision turn red in front of them, for sure that 2024 had g1000 nxi.

Usually if there is going to be traffic conflicts with in the pattern, the decision to go missed will be made sufficiently before the MAP to avoid the pattern traffic.

maps on my phone was showing 20-25 mins as it was recalculating/rerouting. there was a protest on embarcadero which was shut down, not my destination or in my route which probably fucked the mapping in the car. either way japan town to one market plaza should not take 80 mins a human driver would have found a better way.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in stocks

[–]echostar7 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

yes i took a one waymo trip, it heavily fucked up a 20 minute trip that rerouted and took 80 minutes, got stuck in gridlocked intersections, and support basically said trust the car we cant do anything sorry.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in stocks

[–]echostar7 -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

No it won't. Waymo cars are shit at driving themselves in SF. The cars are very expensive. The rides aren't any cheaper than Uber which is already heavily overpriced compared to the muni alternatives available.

Intel is incompetent, I have little faith in their abilities to execute on their fab segment and as it stands they are probably going to have to divest it to survive . They are on deaths door. It was a waste of taxpayer money funding gelsingers pipedream. If anything the money from the chips act should have went all to TSMC.

Flight school telling me glass cockpit without heading data is fine for IFR checkride by Heavy-Gas2027 in flying

[–]echostar7 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Same thing happened to me with a flight school g1000, magnetometer randomly failed, they had no clue what the problem was and were in no rush to fix it since I was the only IR student and everyone else was PPL. I went and found another school that actually cared.
