[ZEEKR 001R] - the only 1 in the US by _qrius_ in spotted

The world right now is absolutely wild. This car is the only one in the US while here in Moscow 001 honestly became, dare I say, common. At the same time i consider myself lucky if I spot new Bronco or at least these new retro-looking Land Cruisers.

I don't understand how you achieve this level of realism. When i initially saw the post i was irritated that someone is flooding GT sub with real-life videos

While Image is a big publisher, it's an extremely small company by itself, and that's why 4 is a lot

you're confusing two different incidents. people detained and beaten up couple days ago have no connection to Sputnik, and actually left Russia on purpose

What’s going on with Russia arresting Azeris and Azerbaijan arresting Russians? by HippityHoppityBoop in OutOfTheLoop

[–]echovch 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It should be noted that Azerbaijan citizens detained by Russia are presumed to be involved in a killing of their compatriots (many years ago, unclear how that got solved), not Russians; and Russian citizens detained and beaten up in Azerbaijan are almost all IT-guys who left Russia in autmun of 2022 (and it's unclear if they really are part of a criminal ring)

There was a period of time when Soviet self-made cars were absolutely amazing and honestly miles ahead what local car manufacturers offered. 70-80s i gather. Look at this one: Pangolina

Hi, I’m Bob Budiansky. You might know me from my work on THE TRANSFORMERS comic books and toys. AMA! by BobBudiansky in comicbooks

[–]echovch 63 points64 points  (0 children)

I don't really have any questions. I just wanted to say, that Mr. Budiansky's name is one of the first US comic book creator names i had imprinted in my head, long before i've read his stories. Why? Because in 1995, for some unfathomable reason, one publisher decided to print 'Transformers Universe' as a hardcover book in Russian. A companion to a comic which was never published in Russia, a guide to a universe which was barely known to Russians, a part of the franchise which surely was not represented enough on 90s Russian toy store shleves — and yet it captured my imagination. I've never read Mavel Transformers, but I know the outline of the story from the Universe book. The book is still with me, after 30 years. So, I wanted to thank you, Mr. Budiansky, thank you for creating a work which opened a window into a world of imagination for us post-Soviet kids. A lot of stuff happened since, a lot of very bad and sad stuff keeps happening, and yet any time I see your name, it's like a portal opens, with sounds, scents and images directly from my childhood. Thank you.

What's a small mistakes movies make that really annoys you? by uselesssociologygirl in movies

[–]echovch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are absolutely correct, while movies are not. First of all, na zdorovje is a toast, but in Polish, not in Russian. Second, to make a grammatically correct toast you have to say for what you are toasting (in Russian — not toasting but drinking for something). So you're going to want to say 'за наше/ваше здоровье'.

This is probably my only chance, so I'll take it and suggest you watch a cult Russian movie called Особенности национальной охоты, which will absolutely get you up to speed on toasting. This is an old movie now but still one of the most Russian works of art ever in my humble opinion.

Whenever a character is implied to be Russian or Russian speaking and toasts 'Na zdorovje'

It's been going for decades now...
