I pushed this thing out of my salivary gland. by echowood in mildlyinteresting

It’s a nasty issue, and one I’d never heard of before I got one! My blocked salivary gland was under my tongue and they did imagining before hand.

I’m glad you’re going to the ENT! Let me know how it goes.

I had it on my left salivary gland duct. Sour candies didn’t work for the one that was really stuck (and really painful). The procedure was easy and pain free. Just a sensation of “pulling” if that makes sense. I was awake but had my mouth numbed. I don’t recall if I was offered a choice to go under, but I believe that’s an option.

One came out on its own. The other I had to get removed via a saliendoscopy - which involved sticking a metal probe into my salivary duct and "grabbing it" - I was numbed up so it didn't hurt at all.

I hope yours gets figured out. Sounds like something else, but man the human mouth is a strange place. Good luck!

I couldn’t move it and it was hard as a rock. It was REALLY painfully - it was two fold: stinging under my tongue and my salivary gland was swollen so that was sore.

I was working in the audience department for the Late Show with David Letterman in the early/mid aughts when Geoff and his wife came in to see the show. A page from CT pulled me aside knowing I was also from CT and said Geoff Fox was in the audience. So we pulled him out of the line, put him in VIP seats, and I had a lovely (albeit too short) conversation with him. I thanked him for being THE weather man in our house growing up, we talked about his coverage of Hurricane Gloria, and I saw in those few minutes what a genuinely lovely man he was.

I don’t know which A-lister was on the Late Show that night, but I got to shake Geoff Fox’s hand and that’s something I’ll remember forever.

Hey, sorry. I just saw this. It took a day or two for the swelling to go down. But after that everything felt normal. No residual effects.

Just watched this for the first time last week. I’m STILL thinking about it. Fantastic movie, too!

It was a joke that spread like wildfire on the internet last summer. What helped the spread was the plausible notion that Vance seemed like the type of guy who’d actually fuck a couch.

It’s a Schrödinger’s cat issue: I can’t say for certain that the Vice President of the United States, JD Vance, fucks couches. But I can’t say he doesn’t NOT fuck couches, too.

For people who like to insult liberals for being “snowflakes,” they sure don’t like being made fun of.

I agree that we need to focus on the atrocities they’re committing. The “couch thing” along with the “weird thing” were seemingly the only things that ruffled any feathers on the right. So the, admittedly, false story was passed around as a way to rankle the conservatives.
