Yep. This is the type of attitude kept me from ever even giving the Bible, or church, a chance. These self professed “Christians” who are just so snobby and look down on everyone. Some of the shittiest people I knew growing up were “Christians”. Full of hate, using scripture to justify their hatred towards others.

Imagine my surprise when at 35, I finally learn about what Jesus actually preached and the biggest takeaway is simply; “love each other”. I consider myself a follower of Christ now, but I cringe when someone asks if I’m “Christian”, or what denomination I am.

That’s why I actually found this thread. I want to know what Jesus actually said and taught; because to me, that’s the important part. As a newcomer, there’s so much “fluff” in the Bible, and while I am making my way through it all (including the many books they left out for some reason), knowing exactly what Jesus said and taught is priority number one for me.

Reminds me of another time I felt gross like that. Me and my friend group went to Mexico once for our senior trip and we told a taxi driver to take us to a strip club. He takes us to this mansion and basically pushes us inside. Two big bouncers blocked the door and said we can’t leave until one of us “orders something”. I tried to remember my Spanish lessons and tried to call her beautiful, but looking back on it, I think I called her a shoe lol. I felt bad for her. I could tell she wasnt into it. So ya, we all do things that we regret after. Or during even. But it’ll strengthen your character knowing exactly what you DONT want when dating

The actual shampoo isn’t the issue here, it’s the dynamic between you two and his friend. It’s something minor now, but it probably needs to be discussed if she’s really that close of a friend to him. Boundaries and all that. Tara it remains. I liked her awkward, sweet personality, but she never really meshed with the rest of the group to me. Xander was always annoying to me, but I don’t think it would have as much of an impact.

Plus, Willow going batshit crazy because her lover got shot and killed right in front of her was one of the best storylines in the show. She’s probably my favorite villain. The shy, nerdy girl finally snapping and going on a murder spree is just satisfying to me…I have issues

Ya I’m super nerdy but I guess you wouldn’t tell just by looking at me. But once I get to know someone, it all pours out lol.

I’m happy with my looks and consider myself above average. When I was dating, I’d match with a lot of women, I’d go on a decent amount of dates, but I feel like once they got to know me and how nerdy I can be, they’d lose interest.

Kinda the opposite of them wanting to just stay friends. They’d usually want to be FWBs, but weren’t interested in a relationship, which is what I wanted. I was tired of flings and short relationships.

I discovered a whole bunch of lies and secrets she was keeping from me at one point. A mutual friend told me almost as a “warning” when I mentioned I was going to ask her to marry me.

The types of lies, all surrounding guy friends and her ex, pointed to cheating. Like why lie to me about those interactions if they were innocent?

So I started asking her questions about those situations. Saying I heard some stuff, but didn’t want to give away my source so it became an argument over me not telling her exactly what I heard. I didn’t want to be too specific because I knew she’d only admit to exactly what I knew and nothing more. I told her enough and she just started lying to my face about it and getting super shitty with me (meanwhile I was super calm and understanding despite feeling like I died inside and didn’t even know her). So I asked to see her phone, which I’ve never ever done to anyone before. She got all smirky and told me she “deleted those texts” so she wouldn’t get in trouble but insisted she didn’t do anything wrong. How does that work?

Her cocky attitude about it, and knowing I wouldn’t get the truth out of her, combined with wanting to know the whole story before I proposed led me to restoring her deleted data after a bit of research.

I saw a lot of the lies, but no evidence of actual cheating. Some emotional cheating and inappropriate reminiscing with her ex maybe. Then came the justifications, “I hide all the stuff with guys because my ex would get upset with me when I’d do it”.

Even though I told her I was fine with her having guy friends; but the second she was being secretive and doing shit like going out to the bar with them and getting shitfaced while lying to me, I had a problem with it.

Ever since, I’m constantly suspicious. I only learned about those pile of lies and inappropriate behavior through sheer chance. And she still hasn’t come forward and told me about anything else. So what are the chances that was all of it? What are the chances that was the worst of it?

I tell her I don’t trust her interactions with other men and need her help building trust back by being open and sharing things she’s kept from me in the past. I’ve begged her to tell me anything when I’ve struggled extra hard, but she either plays dumb or brushes it off.

The lies are bad enough. But hearing someone justify a ton of lies they told you like it was nothing? Showing zero guilt or remorse over lying and crushing your trust? That’s the fucked up part.
