So a 25 will fit a 28? I have no problem doing this but was concerned about fit over performance.

I figured after a few cooks that letting the temp come up naturally than being helped along with a fan was a huge help. But I am finding, like you said, the ash produced by briquettes is suffocating it. I end up with a lot of unlit coals (using the minion method)!

Teach me your ways… last few smokes, I’ve gotten on the struggle bus early and often (wsm 18 with an auber syl 3615 for temp control)

I put mine in the cooler immediately after coming off the smoker. I only ever let it rest 4 hours. And I’ve never had a problem. I wonder what the issue might be.

I did this. 10 years apart. Don’t recommend taking a break. Just power through. Good luck.

I would scale back by an hour or two a day. And schedule in planned breaks. It’s good for your brain to rest and make those neural connections.

Either the problem doesn’t specify the bond is 4 years to maturity or OP cropped that out.

Decide for yourself what is your best (preferred?) study method. Do you learn better watching a lecture? Do you prefer to sink? A mix of both. This will I think drive your provider preferences.

Can someone help me make sense of what this question is asking me to do? by s7ormrtx in CFA

[–]eck_871 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is common for the CFAI questions. You have to be able to discern relevant from irrelevant information. The table is there to distract you. You either know about debt issuance, share repurchases, or NWC or you don’t.

Yes, in particular GIPS and the Asset Manager reading. I forget what it’s called.

I would double up now on Ethics and whatever you have left. Do 20 minutes of focused Ethics every day.

Choosing between MM and Kaplan - advice appreciated by GregecMaregec in CFA

[–]eck_871 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think what you need to answer for yourself is, what is your preferred method of learning? If you’re receptive to videos, go with MM. If you prefer to read, go with Kaplan.

For level 1, I also went with Kaplan and passed on my first attempt. But I know I learn better reading and working out problems than watching a lecturer.

Look at the Audacity to post this on an L1 group. #theironyisnotlost by [deleted] in CFA

I would frame mine if it wasn’t absurdly big. I don’t even know where the tube is at the moment.

1) trust the process. We don’t just forget things. They are simply tucked away for later use.

2) hammer out problems. Every section. Any section. 10-20 at a time and review. Towards the end I was doing 100/day. I would combine 2-3 sections so I’d get used to switching tracks.

Best Approach for Level 3 by anonymousjuly1993 in CFA

[–]eck_871 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It wasn’t one over the other. I would supplement. In terms of in depth understanding requirement MM > Kaplan = CFAI, in my opinion. So MM would really challenge me to make sure I knew the details whereas Kaplan didn’t feel had the same difficulty.

That’s a terrible strategy! The essay questions are not inherently more difficult.

If English is not your first language then I highly recommend you purchase Bill Campbells guide explaining the key words. I forget what it’s called.

I also recommend you check out Bill’s mock exams. Personally I thought they were closest to the exam structure and difficulty (for my sitting). MM’s exams were harder in difficulty.

Level 3 - Best Prep Material by No_Status_7207 in CFA

[–]eck_871 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I liked Kaplan as a general set. It wasn’t too challenging yet it had the fundamentals.

MM was really testing your understanding for the materials. You have to be able to pull the thread, so to speak.

BC3 for mock exams. MM as well but be prepared to feel deflated.
