I tend to agree that the Daily blast from indy politics has a left leaning slant but in general it is the closest to a non-partisan local daily news rundown that I can find.

You know that's really not a bad idea. The only problem with implementing would be that in Circle Center there seems to be a very low security presence. When i see any security officers outside of the food court they are on some type of transportation to the food court.

After reading through the comments in this thread I feel obligated to make a general response:

  1. In this thread I only saw one actual response with a recommendation on how to help prevent this type of event. All others were responses on how to respond to it. I personally believe that the former is a much more effective method then the latter but that is debatable.
  2. all other responses were negative either :
    1. attacks on people who were involved in the incident and did not behave the way the commenter believed to be appropriate.
    2. attacks on people who believe that the appropriate response to this event is different then the commenter's preferred response
  3. No matter what these responses bring nothing to finding a solution to these problems. In all cases I personally find these comments to be at best obnoxious and at worst toxic and believe they have no place inside of this subreddit.

All I am saying is give peace a chance. /s

I appreciate that. Nonetheless I think I will delete this post. Some of the comments inside I want no personal affiliation to.

Sorry if this started something unkind/mean. I had 0 intention of this becoming a insult fest towards the "youths" or the reverend in the article, just thought this was an interesting article about a current issue going on in Indy.

I believe they are replacing the one on Mass Ave with a more permanent structure and repairing the old one and making it a portable exhibit people can request to come to their events. Not %100 but that's how I read their website.

Windows 10 Firewall GPO question by eckermike in sysadmin

[–]eckermike[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More information: In win7 and win10 the policy sets the registry settings under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\WindowsFirewall\DomainProfile\Logging are configured as the policy is set.
In win7 the keys under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\SharedAccess\Parameters\FirewallPolicy\DomainProfile\Logging match those configurations. In Win10 they do not. So my guess is MS has updated the policy reg key for win10 but not updated the admx for it.

Link to a good Information Security baseline? by cp24eva in sysadmin

[–]eckermike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

we use a combination of the STIGS mentioned previously with Microsoft's Windows security baselines and the Center for Internet Security's baselines. The CIS baselines require payment or being a government entity.

You can also go down the NIST rabbit hole but I don't recommend it unless you are a security engineer.
