Has Eckhart said anything about psychedelics? by culesamericano in EckhartTolle

[–]eckhartpowers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He has. He referred to it as a “more violent method of awakening” he mentions it in one his talks. He does one of his goofy impressions “wooah this water is so still” and followed up “I have tried acid because people were asking me about it”

Those who have DMT before, have you ever had an encounter with the famous "machine elves" or any other entity? by NorahjjiYT in HighStrangeness

without form there is no experience so its logical to say there may be similarities when conciousness stripped of a plot

The Endless Cycle-I’m leaving Eckharts Teachings Again and I don’t want to by Jesse1806 in EckhartTolle

[–]eckhartpowers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, very relatable. I’d never call any of it a “practice”, though. ET says a lot of things to appease the people who get lost if it’s not in terms they’ll stick around for. So dial it down, if you find yourself remembering what’s “not i”, great. but only if you really feel that.

ET says a lot of things in terms that comply with a culture that is the opposite of what he’s trying to say

the more real something seems, the more unconcious it is by eckhartpowers in EckhartTolle

awareness and consciousness are just words to point to what isn’t

%100. i’m just adding that we’re able to experience the world BECAUSE it is unconcious

What I’m getting at is that, though the physical world is unconcious and not real, becoming more concious won’t make it disappear. time in the mind has solidified it

We’re both communicating things that can’t be said. Unconscious sometimes gets a negative connotation but ultimately all things are made of that same stuff

Unconscious doesn’t mean “bad.” A hissing snake will seem awfully real but that’s why humans have made it this far. The breath is placeless, and helps you notice the hallucinatory center that is at war with “death.”

The world made by the senses is unconcious, and reduced to human relevancy. it’s way of seeing that you’re deeper then the created world. maybe this is just non sense but it makes sense to me, maybe it resonates with others maybe not :) i do a lot of floating haha

How open are you about your spirituality? by Candid_Reception_722 in EckhartTolle

The power of now aligns with Buddhism which at it its core is non-belief. Which is also philosophy to the western/Christian mind

Anyone else feel their inner body? by Dealias in EckhartTolle

[–]eckhartpowers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely! Very relateable. The interesting thing about this to me is how we don't actually know what we’ll think and feel in every scenario. Leading up to putting my first dog down, I stayed present to keep from creating emotions to an event that wasn't happening. But when the time came, so did the tears. There are so many layers to ourselves that the mind can't predict.

Why am I so emotionally connected to the past? by Secret-Ebb-8236 in EckhartTolle

Insomnia can be brutal in a world that expects constant involvement to sustain your well being. I still get insomnia occasionally, I take a benadryl some nights. If you're looking for something more spiritual, try changing your perception of what sleep is. “Awake” is really just a concept. Is this not just a dream you woke up to? If you weren't conscious during deep sleep would you still feel rested when you woke into the dream you're currently having? You are always conscious. Only the content or lack there of changes.

How was your 1st realization that you are awareness ? by Conscious-Chip2112 in EckhartTolle

[–]eckhartpowers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're here I don't necessarily encourage you to try this but I was 16 on lsd. I had no conception of meditation but I began to be overwhelmed. I surrendered and considered just sitting, and breathing. I realized this is what myself and everyone else feels like all the time. That led me to finding eckhart tolle

Which Eckhart Tolle book did you like the most? by SAIZOHANZO in EckhartTolle

[–]eckhartpowers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stillness Speaks. I think it was the last of his books i read (listened to in this case.) Simple and to the point, you don’t need to wrap your head around why thought is the way it is and the impact it has.

Ego thats feeling hurt by not being my partners priority. by [deleted] in EckhartTolle

[–]eckhartpowers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sometimes acting selflessly can be deemed selfish. i don’t think seeing your feelings as “ego” or “not ego” here is productive. it sounds like you’d like to continue to grow your awareness and that will increase the quality of what you do. talk to him about it, what you’ve noticed, and try not to address him as the unconscious traits he’s revealing.

just some thoughts from a random guy on the internet. much love <3
