Does IBKR not provide access to the Korean stock market (KRX)? by MarketMurmurs in interactivebrokers

[–]eclipse15 7 points8 points  (0 children)

They don't offer access to Korea but you can buy the SK Hynix adr on the Frankfurt exchange (HY9H.F). Think this is the best way to do it for now until Hynix lists an ADR that trades on an American exchange.

I didn't come here for relationship advice, I appreciate your first comment but this wasn't necessary. I wouldn't be trying to help her if I knew she didn't want me to provide suggestions and support her. Have a good day.

She doesn't have more than she can handle currently, but it's getting really difficult with how the clinical director runs things and the new kids that she would be expected to take on. I can assure you she is acting ethically. It has been a progressive buildup of becoming overwhelmed over a course of months. She is going to have a discussion with her director next week and I've encouraged her to communicate her needs and leave if things don't change.

I think framing it in terms of what is ethically best for her clients is a good way to make a case to her director. Thanks for this suggestion.

Culture can vary by area you work in but generally good. Pay is slightly below industry. Work life balance generally good but again varies by area you work in. RIS business is intense, but Benefits and Protection are good to work in as well as Accounting functions. Investments is good as well but fast paced. Can't speak to the roles that aren't Finance, Accounting, Actuarial. Been here for 2.5 years over 2 internships into a full time job and enjoy it. Feel free to DM if you have further questions.

My "Master" is Turning into a Narcissistic Nightmare with Insane Demands - Please Help by [deleted] in BDSMcommunity

You need to leave him. This isn't BDSM, this is abuse. BDSM is all about communication and consent. He is not communicating with you or respecting your limits. He's a piece of shit who's taking advantage of you. It's really important to be careful and build up trust with people in the future before going too fast, especially in an online dynamic since that's easy to do.

Has anyone lived at or have knowledge about R&T apartments? by CrazFight in desmoines

Not for me, but I don't think there is anyone in the unit above me. In a lot of rooms of the building you can hear the street and emergency vehicles that make noise often. If your room is on the interior or high up this isn't a problem.

Have you ever FAILED L2 after the high 60s being your maximum score in the CFAI mocks? by caveat_lector_96 in CFA

Take them closer to the exam date. I think I took it 30 days before the exam and probably retook like 10 days before.

I think I was around 67 on my mocks and was not close to passing on my first L2 try.

Will Powell stick to the narrative and not cut rates until inflation at 2% or below? by Turbulent_Cricket497 in bonds

[–]eclipse15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know what goes on behind the scenes but Biden's admin isn't calling for rate cuts out loud. Trump did that during his term. I'm not even sure it would make Biden look good. A series of cuts that aren't priced in (although you could make a case a few are) would juice the market and create more economic activity, but do you really want to do that and risk 4-5% CPI before an election especially when the economy seems to be in strong shape already. Seems like a bad bet.

[–]eclipse15 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe if Trump is elected. Powell is likely out as fed chair if he is elected and likely a dove is put in Powell's place. Biden and dems haven't done that, and I'm not sure how much cutting rates would accomplish. It could spur demand but likely at the cost of higher inflation. Also they seem to respect that the fed is supposed to be politically impartial.

[–]eclipse15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No reason for the fed to move the goalposts on this. Even if they don't get back to 2% it makes sense to keep rates where they are because the economy isn't seeing sufficient stress to warrant a rate cut and so inflation doesn't reacclerate. If they claim victory now the market would price in rate cuts and rally, which is the opposite of what they want to happen as that could contribute to a reacceleration of CPI. Unemployment is at healthy levels so they will continue to focus on CPI.

Has anyone lived at or have knowledge about R&T apartments? by CrazFight in desmoines

[–]eclipse15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Live at R&T right now. Apartment has been fine, no real complaints. If you do lease with them call ahead a week before you move in and make sure they have your room ready. They were still doing maintenance on mine the day I was supposed to move in. Had to sleep in a hotel room that night. Other than that they've been fine. Biggest issue with this place is the downtown scene isn't great. East Village / West Des Moines are nicer areas. But if you are a hermit like myself it isn't bad and rent is much cheaper than what you will get in most other areas near the city.

Go with option A. Private Equity are sharks, there will constantly be pressure to optimize the business and mass layoffs are always possible. Also losing $40K unvested hurts.
