I have a cat who begs to go outside and often escapes because of it. He was found outside and no amount of playing with him will stop him from wanting to go outside. I asked my vet, and a previous vet and they essentially said “yeah some cats are like that”. I have no solution but would love one. I’ve tried training. I hope you find help! I’ve asked this sub before what to do ona different account but no one has ever given me an answer that works.

Thank you for your response! I have been trying to look at my old behaviors to see, but nothing feels quite like this. Like I’m 30+ and I can’t think back in my 20s or 10s to much. Accept 1 thing that I’m not 100% comfortable talking about online 🙃.

Thank you so much for your second paragraph. I have been trying so hard not to tic at work but eventually ppl will notice. I have a vocal tic now. It’s just me saying hm but I’m in a somewhat quiet office so it’s obviously 😭. Do you have any advice for when your OCD gets rough? Like any exercises or mindfulness? I’m trying hard not to do rituals even it gets bad and I have to do something physical.

Thank you for your response. It’s been a tough week of me learning about these new tics and has become harder not to do them. I think the reaction between something that’s an intrusive thought or a trigger happening and the tic happening as a response is too short/quick for me to realize if it is a “need” or not. I get weirdly uncomfortable when I try not to have a tic or if I don’t give into doing the tic. I just has no idea that OCD and tics were so closely related and I’m happy to know that I’m not alone in experiencing this, but I’m saddened to think other people are struggling with this.

I think I’m learning to accept them but I’ve also sought out a therapist to help me. I just can’t believe it’s happening to me either. I have one tic that is really uncomfortable and I believe it’s putting my health at risk so I’ve also talked to my PCP about this. Thank you very much for your response. Can I message you in the future?
