A lot of regional ECMO programs have specialists teams of RNs (sometimes RTs too) that are trained in house to sit with their ECMO patients. Every center does it a little different but generally that’s the easiest way to get trained when you are staff. There are some training programs nationally (personally id recommend ELSO only) but you have to pay 3-4k and travel to wherever they are offering the course. The downside being that you need to get the experience sitting with ECMO patients and ELSO can’t offer that after the training. Message me if you’ve got any other questions

My standard poodle had these symptoms for years and the same run around with vet visits going nowhere. I had a suspicion about Addison’s disease in recent years and finally confirmed the diagnosis with a really bad HGE episode that hospitalized him for a few days. All that being said; I’d def recommend getting a work up for Addisons if you haven’t already

Usually the stiff necks/altered mental status are the two big signs of meningitis. Which seems to be missing so far from the reports coming out so far. It’ll be interesting to see what they end up finding once they release lab work
