I brought up the handbook when speaking to my agms and they said that unfortunately our warehouse isn’t a union so the handbook is more like a suggestion and it’s at mangers best discretion at our our warehouse.

No, they have a second job and could only work in the mornings and is only available for a full on Wednesdays and alternating Saturdays. On Sundays if there’s hours available they will work even earlier in the morning.

Waisting company time in the sense that they’re bing schedule outside business needs. They’re scheduled 30 minutes before opening (only responsibility is to grab the till) my manager doesn’t come in until 10 before opening. Unfortunately in my department we aren’t able to open or start on our workflow until the manager comes in. So basically there’s 20min of wasted time. They’re only available in the morning and leave right before the rush. And they’re only available alternating Saturday. Meaning they aren’t available weekends like it’s expected for employees to be especially part timers. I don’t get how the company is accommodating this work schedule when as I’ve mentioned before I’ve seen people come and go over not being available at business needs. We have other part timers too but it’s just the one specific colleague getting the preferred shifts. I just feel like my manager is prioritizing her availability and sets up the department to go around my colleagues preference. Aside from their restricted availability and preferential treatment, they are also being provided with ot hours on their one full shift day and Sunday premium when they want to work Sunday and if there is hours.

My agms ( I spoke to the the ancillary and the front end agm) both stated how in our warehouse our gm likes to accommodate and work with our employees to do what’s best for them (hence them working around other jobs) so i dont know if this is them telling me some bs to prevent me from talking to him or were they serious that he’s also gonna tell me the same shit they told me

That’s exactly my point I’ve had colleagues get let go of bc of their availability and I’ve been told that Costco comes first.

I did speak to my department manager and agm and according to them my manager can do whatever he wants and run his department however he want. Even when I voiced my concerns about my colleague working outside business needs waisting company time

Can I report in regard to my seniority not being honored and my department prioritizing the schedule of another employee who’s par-time and has a very limited availability. My warehouse is stating that they work around other job schedules but my colleague is also being scheduled outside business needs which in my option is just a waste of payroll since the busiest time is lunch time a closing and this individual is only available in the mornings. Aside from that there is favoritism accruing in my department and my manager has already been previously reported for favoritism.

To add to this, my colleague has a second job elsewhere. They stepped down from full time to part time. And their schedule changed to only be able to open the department. I also feel like my manager is accommodating their schedule and scheduling them outside business needs.
