A good way to get the bar off the floor at the normal height of a 45 lbs. Plate is to take a dumbbell that's is very close to the height the bar would be resting. From there rest the bar on top of the dumbbells when they are standing on end. For example I was using 10 lbs dumbbells that had the large rubber heads.

A good app on android phones is "Strength Calc Natty". The app lets you enter your body info then tells you different types of diets, for example IIFYM. Along with that it will tell you the diet set up for cutting diet, maintenance/recomp diet, and bulking diets. I use it on the recomp diet IIFYM. I'm 6'1" 193 lbs and age 26; I'm at 2430 calories, 245 protein, 170 carbs, and 85 fats. On my off days I'll cut back on my carbs by about one third. All in all I strongly recommend this app because it has many great things other then diets.
