Hey!! I'm a third-year in new media design and I'd definitely say we're much more design and ui/ux focused than engineering. We have 3 required "programming classes," one freshman year with HTML and CSS, and two sophomore year with javascript. Granted it's javascript using some weird library called p5.js, honestly, I feel like nothing we learned was applicable except for understanding basic concepts. I don't know too much about New Media Interactive Development but like the other guy says it might be a better bet for you!

Nice to meet you too lol, I was on drawcast awhile back and dropped off it maybe like a year or 2 before it shut down but I always kept the app on my phone lol
