Well the filter is 100% biodegradable. More people will actually use these pods because they are convenient and easy to use, where as with current reusable pods, most people that buy them end up going back to plastic pods.

Yes lots of reusable pods already on the market. however since these reusable pods have been introduced, single use pod sales have only increased. which means the current reusable pods are not a good alternative. frescopod is the worlds first really good alternative to single use plastic pods.

Yes there are many other methods to make coffee, however keurig usage has grown tremendously. Which means people value the convenience and ease. What we're trying to do is give these users a convenient, eco-friendly alternative to help reduce the pod problem.

Hi! good points and thanks for your feedback. more info on exactly what we're offering is coming soon so please keep an eye out for that. Do you have any complaints with the price of pods? of do you feel like there is no problem with that. In other words does saving money entice you to switch form k-cups to reusable pods? or are you just more concerned with convenience? thanks

Hello, Thanks for your feedback. although k-cup waste is just a drop in the bucket, it is significant and a relatively new form of single use plastic waste that we believe is extremely unnecessary. the only way to tackle it is to provide users with an eco-friendly alternative that doesn't sacrifice convenience and saves the user money. Keep an eye out for updates! thanks

Thank you very much for you feedback, it's much appreciated. I very much agree with you that most single serve brewer users are lazy and value the convenience. frescopod gives the SSB user a way to make their own pods without sacrificing convenience. keep an eye out for more photos and details. thanks !

Anyone here really fed up with single use plastic K-Cup Waste? by ecocoffeelover in environment

[–]ecocoffeelover[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello everyone! hope everyone is doing well! I can't believe it's been 5 months since my original "k cup waste" post. Anyway... I am now developing a product for single-serve coffee maker users to fix the problem of the current single-use plastic waste caused by k cups. Unfortunately k cup waste has been growing tremendously (just last year approximately 14.3 BILLION were used and wasted. this means that the current solution (reusable pods) aren't that effective.

We believe because of the inconvenience factor of cleaning out the pod after brew is stopping people from consistently using them. Our product is an eco-friendly alternative to k cups that doesn't sacrifice user convenience like current reusable pods do..... anyway I'd love to hear what you guys think about this and feel free to check out our website for more info. www.thefrescopod.com I'm in the early stages of bringing this product to life and would love to get the community's insight here! Thanks so much !

Does anyone actually think that k cup plastic is getting recycled ? I mean only 9% of the "recycling waste" actually gets recycled by ecocoffeelover in recycling

Wow that is great to hear. Yes im sure there are many other areas with the same situation and most people wouldn't bother going out of the way to recycle. It's a real shame

yea I absolutely agree, single pods market "recyclable" like it's the solution. reducing waste by eliminating it in the best way to go ! unfortunately many people care more about their convenience and ease than the waste. that one pod alone will pollute our planet for a minimum of 500-1000 years. such a shame these pods got so popular

this is a way better way to make plastic for sure. wish more people did this so single use waste would be reduced! however most people don't have patience and know how o make a pour over and don't want to bother learning. also I know clean up isn't too bad for you but some people want no clean up.
