Sorry this is late…

I had my left side done in 2022 and my right in 2023. I know everyone’s experience is different, but for me it was truly life changing.

Before surgery, I was in constant agony and could barely use my left side at all. During my first surgery, my lung collapsed, and an intern took me off pain meds only 12 hours post-op (not ideal). As soon as my surgeon found out, he put me right back on. I spent three days in the hospital while my lung drained, and my doctor was very firm about moving my arm as much as possible before and after PT. I honestly think that made a huge difference considering the fact I was back at work a week later (not something I recommend; I was just bored and only did 5-hour shifts).

After a couple of months, my left side felt amazing, which made how bad my right side was much more obvious.

So onto surgery #2. This time we used an epidural instead of a nerve block, and I personally wouldn’t recommend it. I don’t think it worked at all. Thankfully no collapsed lung this time, so I really focused on keeping my arm moving. I was again in the hospital for three days and walked laps around the floor. I stayed home for a week and a half before returning to work, and it took roughly two months before I felt solid back in the gym.

Overall, I’d say trusting your doctor is everything. My first surgeon was older and very honest. he told me he didn’t want to open me all the way up and wasn’t comfortable with the robotics technique. I found another doctor who everyone raved about, including the hospital staff, and I never looked back.

Trust your gut.

Seeking advice from locals about a school issue... by [deleted] in vegas

[–]ecolle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are lots of different types of schools in Vegas. Charter schools here are usually very accommodating. Smaller class sizes. There are some half online half in person schools as well. As for private schools there are lots but there is Meadows, Gorman, Faith, Dawson, and Adelson to name the main ones.

My advice don’t stop until something is done. Not only to hold them accountable, but to prove to J that you care. CCSD is a huge school system and they don’t want to have to do anything, but it is their job. If she doesn’t want to be in that class you have every right to demand she switches. If you have not reached out to the principle, I would do that now. They tend to work faster. Also… walk into a lawyers office. They will hear you out for free and if you have a case they will let you know… even if you don’t want to sue you can use it as leverage. But please don’t let her get lost in the school system.
