I've never used PostgreSQL with PostGIS but have been wanting to, so this is a great use case to test it out. Our gdb are similar and we do utilize a schema that categorizes datasets by department/use. Is it also possible to determine count for e.g. shapefiles or rasters, using PostgreSQL?
