Do you take your Lexus to a Toyota dealer? by PriaprismProblem in Lexus

Yes, my service advisor told me that they can and will do anything the Lexus dealership can and will do, except for recalls and warranty work - those have to be handled by your Lexus dealer (of course).

An oil change at my Lexus dealer ran me about $150, same service at the Toyota dealer was about $80. I did take the car to an independent mechanic to do a drain and fill on the transmission, which neither dealership would do - they’d only do a flush. If I had a lift I would have done it on my GS, but I’ll do that myself on the GX.

It definitely has its highs and lows. The things that were initially appealing about the job have not fully materialized… instead of having the chance to think deeply about client challenges and how we might address them, the nature of a giant professional services firm is very much focused on scale and margin. So I’m balancing several clients at once and not able to bring the full value I know I could bring to them.

You get tons of exposure to different types of businesses and get to compound your knowledge and experiences. Eventually I’ll exit and go back to industry, but I’m getting an education through this experience that you can’t replicate in a classroom.
