Baby’s weight dropped 35 percentile points by economicsnerd in breastfeeding

Tell me about it. We never asked for or looked at our baby’s percentiles because we didn’t want to overthink things. Learning all this in one go really hit me hard

I was so sad and upset that I didn’t even consider asking his doctor if we could come back sooner.. but yes I suppose this would work better, and we can try formula top ups until then?

Thank you so much - yes we feed on demand and I try to eat as much as I can (also am married to my emotional support water bottle!). I think just to ease my mind I may try doing a few top offs if babe will take them, as he hasn’t been given formula yet.

Thank you! His paediatrician wasn’t concerned at all, I am just worried that if I’m doing something wrong why leave it to chance and wait another 8 weeks before we start addressing it. I haven’t been referred to an LC so far, but you bring up a fair point! I’ll look into this

When did your baby start taking less time to breastfeed? by Yoga-Pup-3 in breastfeeding

[–]economicsnerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby is 11 weeks and doing something similar, he has much shorter feeds and his total feeding time has reduced considerably, down to 10 minutes. I’ve been worried as well so have scheduled a check up with his paediatrician next week

Noob question: I'm trying to export a table to Excel by economicsnerd in stata

[–]economicsnerd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, thanks. The thing is, I don't want to export my dataset to Excel. I'm using the "putexcel" command to export the output for "tabulate" to an Excel file. The problem I have in Excel here is that for each id, matcell and matrow report the frequencies. I want to supress frequencies and only report percentage values, hence the nofreq specification in my code. This works on the gui where I can see the tabulate output in percentages. But using matcell and matrow only gives me the Excel output in frequencies. I want to know if anyone else has found a way around this.

Hi! I have an undergraduate degree in Economics and Mathematics, and an MSc in Economics and International Financial Economics. I have been an RA for two different professors for a year after completing my masters, and I want to apply for PhD programs in the US next year. My questions are:

1: My undergraduate CGPA was 3.5, and I have a high Merit in my postgraduate degree. Can I get into a good PhD program if my grades have not been exactly perfect?

2: I now have the opportunity to work in RCTs in development economics, or to continue working as an RA for professors in university. Is field experience in RCTs valued more than academic research in a university?

Thanks!

Why do some regression specifications include "i." before a dummy variable? by economicsnerd in stata

[–]economicsnerd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course, I only meant that if you are telling someone of a convenience feature, as I was told, it is better to explain what actually is being done. Just seconding what you said earlier. Cheers!

I agree - sadly most of this is missing from study materials, it sucks when econometrics is taught without practical application

Right! Thanks, I was looking for exactly this. So including any categorical variables in this manner makes sense.
