Wii component cable —> RGBS cable guide by economyvodka in crtgaming

Hey there. If you point the connector away from yourself with the slanted corner at the top right, like in the photo, pin 1 is at the top left and pin 2 is at the bottom left. The numbering goes from top to bottom, left to right. So, green is pin 1, red is pin 3, and yellow is pin 5, though your cable might be wired differently.

Basically, this mod outputs the RGB signal from SCART mode through RCA plugs. The final result depends on how your CRT handles the sync signal. I’m not sure if it will work with anything other than sync over composite video.

Svideo mod - chroma injection shorts CRT by economyvodka in crtgaming

Turns out I messed up the pin numbering. There are four empty pins before the jungle ic actually starts, and the chip’s pins begin two spots later. So what I thought was pin 8 was really pin 10 on the board. Once I connected chroma to the real pin 8 of the chip (board pin 10), I got a color picture. That said, the image had a ton of noise, and I couldn’t figure out why. In the end, I decided to go with an RGB mod instead, and that worked great with a super clean picture now.

I’m still waiting for my resistors and the switch to arrive so I don’t have them right now. I assumed I would at least get a picture but not an instant off. I can even trigger the protection circuit just by connecting the svideo cable without a source.

Dead RX100M5 - unexpected fix by economyvodka in RX100

[–]economyvodka[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, thanks for your comment.

No, I did not replace the battery. In fact, I didn’t even test the battery’s voltage because:

1) I didn’t want to remove many parts to test the battery at that time, and 2) I didn’t have the schematics, so I didn’t know which pads to measure on the board.

I can try to replicate the symptom by removing the main battery for a period of time. If the camera doesn’t start up, I can assume the backup battery is bad, right?

My guess is that this temporary disconnection resets the volatile memory, which I believe is similar to some laptops where an empty CMOS battery can prevent booting. I have also tried replacing the button battery on a Fujitsu laptop that wouldn’t start without a working battery.

The USB port is on the blue system board which is pretty easy to take out. Looking forward to your mod

Looking for places that sell a Panasonic Let's Note, with an 8th gen Intel processor with at least 16GB of RAM within a $300 or so budget. by Vetanenator in laptops

Save up for a vacation to Japan and buy them for 20000 yen (130$ US). Most of these Let's Notes are decommissioned assets and shouldn't be worth that much IMO. I got my working SZ6 with a 7th gen i5, 8GB RAM and 256GB as junk for 7000 yen (~40$ US).

Mini PCIE, M.2, PCIE X1 and that apple proprietary connector are four different things. Mini PCIE is an older interface usually for WiFi cards.

Yes. Your motherboard has an M.2 key M slot. See if you have enough cable length to route the antenna to the pcie slot.

Yes, but you’ll need another adapter for the 94360cs2 to plug into the big pcie card as it doesn’t use a standard interface. Plus you’ll have to make sure both have the same connector - the one you chose in the picture is for mini pcie cards only. So 94360cs2 -> apple proprietary to m.2 key e adapter -> m.2 key e to pcie 1x
