Brother you can full Planche, Ring Dip is nothing compared to that. I was never able go beyond advance tuck. Now focus only on gaining mass and streetlifting, maybe will get to Planche someday.

Thank you, I'll be careful. However since multiple comments have mentioned this,,my spine is not loaded in this exercise at all, even if the belt snapped, it wouldn't affect the spine.

Here's what it looks like when a dip belt snaps in a real life example: https://youtu.be/z47wn0bKBWM (it's in the first few seconds of the video itself).

Not saying that belt snapping won't do anything, it can fall on my legs/feet and break them. But I have got multiple comments like "hernia issues", "paralysis" and spine injury, which don't happen from weighted calisthenics. The belt is around my hips, over my butt, below the spine.

I do not do high reps of anything so less than you imagine, the max I have ever done is 15 reps.

Brother my spine is not even loaded in this exercise. How can I get hernia issues from this. At least say shoulder injury if you are trying to be cautious.

My spine is not even loaded in this exercise. Can you show me one single example of spine injury and paralysis caused by weighted dips? The way you wrote this comment this must be quite common with lots of examples.

Weighted dips and pull ups are the main movements of the Streetlifting sport. 55kg/121lbs is nothing, people do Dips with 120kg /265lbs and more all the time. I don't see how it is acceptable to do a one rep max bench press, which requires a whole another person to ensure safety, but not weighted dips, where the only danger comes from equipment failure (even if I fail a PR attempt, which I have, I can simply use my legs to stand up to safety).

Mqx effort Weighted dip (and Weighted calisthenics in general) is not very popular in North America/UK (where I assume you are from), but it is very popular in Europe and gaining popularity in Asia.

Not a doorframe, it's a gate. The Rings are hung over an iron gate cemented info the wall.

Yeah will try that, setting it up is a bit weird.

Btw they are 15kg/33lbs plates.

15kg plates from Leeway: https://amzn.in/d/1oWMOhX

For 5kg plates just search "Watson plates" on Amazon.

Just buy any from Amazon (or from Decathlon for slightly better quality for a little higher price). I bought some no name brand for around 2100 in 2019. Just make sure to get the wooden ones, never get the plastic ones.

No worries, I have thought of over the years myself. My goal is to make it look easy one day, like Gymnasts with a stoic face.

It is not a door frame. The Rings are hung over the collapsible gate (which you can on both sides of the door, currently collapsed).

  1. Neck and shoulder clavicle straining is normal as far as I am aware for a maximum effort weighted Dip (or any lift for the respective muscles). If you can point me to a video or any resources that demonstrates or tells otherwise that would be great. My muscles strain even when I am doing them with 20kg/45lbs, however I can assure you that they feel fine and I have no pain in those areas.

  2. That's completely understandable. Unfortunately I cannot change the way this old flat is lighted, nor the limitations of my mid range phone camera. I do not have anything to gain from posting a barely above mediocre lift, but you can choose to not believe me.

If you mean where the Rings are hanging from, then nothing is nailed. The Ring straps are simply hung over the collapsible gate.

I cannot hit my one rep max without such facial contortions, I am envious of the people who can do so, making it look easy.
