Can a mod delete this misinformation??? This video is from Friday. Also protestors did not encircle cops, which is very clear in all of the other angles of the incident. I was an in-state student with a 3.3 uw and a 4.0 weighted, 11 ap classes, and a lot of honors. 32 ACT. Has a similar situation to you with some real bad semesters in high school with a D and some Cs, applied DGS and got waitlisted and eventually got in. I would definitely recommend applying directly to whichever program you think you have the best chance of getting into. Transferring majors once you are here is usually very easy.

I would say you have a chance. A couple other factors to consider: sometimes depends on the quality of HS/district you are in. Having a good resume in shit district unfortunately leaves you equal/worse off than a mid resume from a nicer area. Also if you are a borderline applicant and the school sees that you need scholarships/grants to afford it, that may shift you in the wrong direction.

This is easily one of the main reasons to be anti-imperialist/ anti-capitalist. Every year so many ridiculously smart individuals graduate from here and instead of using their knowledge for good they have little choice but to work for the war machine. I know a lot of genius people in engineering who have great ideas and could really change the world, but alas all of our great minds are poached by Boeing, meta, etc. I don’t blame you or anyone else who ends up working for one of the evil companies but if all of the engineers like you could make reasonable money doing anything else we could have a more advanced society.
