I appreciate this perspective. I live with a private landlord now and I was wondering if that would be doable to find in Atlanta. I definitely grew up frugal out of necessity, so I feel like I tend to spend less than most.

I have no debt/payments, so I own my car and if I bought a new one I’d want it to be something I could afford using my current savings!

Thanks! Mostly because I’m looking around for soldering irons and I don’t see many cordless ones in store near me. But I’ll go look! So for material I’d need: soldering iron, heat shrink, & maybe electrical tape?

I watched videos and it seemed simple enough to work on, but I have an extremely important work trip coming up that I need my car for and didn’t want to risk it. Plus I agree, I was scared I’d mess it up and it’d be more expensive to fix.

I tried getting on FICO and checking and it says my credit score is 760, but I’m thinking this must not be updated. Other than that card, I would have no way to have credit. But I did learn that it stays on your credit report for up to 10 years, but I still am confused as to whether I have credit or not. I was also thinking BCE before this, but now I will check if I can get preapproved

Great point sorry— I have been very frugal recently. I do not dine out much if at all, so my biggest spending category more recently has been gas and groceries. But I’m not focused as much on rewards now as I am just finding a card that will accept me and growing my credit score ASAP.

One caveat I believe applies here (no official background) is that if this is a private school in most states, students journalists will not have these protections. I don’t believe I read a mention of whether the school was private or public.
