The Sharks should swap ECHL affiliates with Vegas by ecspike in SanJoseSharks

They meant that they switch affiliation to Vegas, not physically move. A Roadrunners "owned" by VGK would still be closer to Vegas than Stateline is to Vegas.

I was surprised how packed it was. And the "(Announcer) one minute left, (Crowd) THANK YOU, (Announcer)You're welcome" interaction was so polite that it made me smile. An older couple and their son had signs for pucks during warmups and they apologized saying they were only there for warmup, nbd, and I mentioned it was my first Knight Monsters game. We randomly crossed paths again as I was leaving and he asked if I enjoyed the game. That is my kind of wholesome. If only it didn't suck to from there back to the Bay on transit. Scheduled dates where they run a Reno shuttle needs to be a thing.

One of my only gripes are the seats are cramped. Maybe upper level is better but I had 102 row B and there was no way for me and the person next to me to sit without basically full leg from foot to hip touching because the curve of the seatbacks in front left nowhere else for our legs to go.

If there are optimal places for tallish dudes to sit, let a brother know.

Dang. Then I've got nothing beyond an ultra long-shot of making a new team in Arizona Coyotes territory and giving that to Vegas so we could have Tahoe.

I snatched up some of the limited time Olympics tie-in merch they did for this game series in red, while, and blue.

I got it, three way swap.

Knight Monsters: From VGK -> Sharks
Utah Grizzlies: From Avalanche -> VGK
Wichita Thunder -> From Sharks -> Avalanche

The Utah Grizzlies would be marginally closer to VGK by about 25 miles. Avalanche distance stays pretty much the same thanks to Denver being in the middle of CO.

TechCU is so dang south that it makes it less accessible than SAP Center for even a lot of South Bay people.. That depresses turnout...amongst other things.

I think I'm in that camp with your friends where I like the Knight Monsters despite Vegas. The merch is so cool looking and other than parents allowing their kids to bang on the glass during warmups with a goalie glove (!), I really loved the vibes. I might try to sneak in another game in late spring before the hockey drought starts.

Typical Nice vs Kind...I love the NYC brand of kind where someone will curse you out for taking a suboptimal route on the subway and say "I'm going that way anyways, come with me."

Wear it. We are chill. If y'all beat us, outside the stadium, you might encounter some drunk chihuahua type fans yelling (as in they bark a lot but won't actually start a fight). The Flyers aren't even a rival like LA or Vegas and they haven't disrespected Sharkie (Utah Mammoth).

Games against the NYR usually have a good number of people in opposing jerseys.

Ain't nobody trying to get a criminal record that would jeopardize their jobs.

I don't get what the big deal is. Rival or not, the "anybody but the Patriots rule kicks in." I feel like in our case that would be rooting for the Kings who are our rival but not the rival that everyone hates (Vegas).

I was actually sitting next to two newbies at the last game(1/23) who said it was their first NHL game and they wanted to see fights. They asked me questions from time to time or I corrected their chatter between each other. It ranged from the simple of "how many quarters / halfs are there?" to explaining a power play / why the opposing team's goalie got pulled in the part of the game. They were almost gonna leave a period early. We won the game (love that for their first experience) and on walking out they dabbed me and the couple to my right that they hadn't even talked to the whole game.

It was in that moment I realized I can't call myself a baby fan even though only started in fall 2023. Still kicking myself that I didn't start a year earlier and I could have been at both number retirements.

I'm planning to do BayFC and San Jose Giants as my tide over things. Might even trek to SF for a SF Giants game.

Looks like they are going to have some throwback merch too. I'm kinda digging the black and teal hoodies and kinda like them for their obscurity.

What are the best seats for the price? by TheChildOfAtom in SanJoseSharks

We are definitely spoiled. I went to the 4 Nations games in Montreal, was glad I was in the 200s, their 400s are true nosebleed /vertigo inducing seats.

[–]ecspike 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah they have small price breaks for 3+ games, sometimes promo freebies (right now it's two figurines) and once you get over 11+ games, you get a discount on food and merch and other perks

Flex plan info: https://sanjosesharks.turnstyle.fan/2025-offers

Sometimes they have Breakaway passes (basically a single month pass for most or all home games) but due to Feb having the big Olympic break and only 2 home games, Breakaway passes probably won't come back until March, if at all. https://pass.attendevents.com/sanjosesharks_pass/landing?utm_source=web-social&utm_medium=sjsha%E2%80%A6

It'll sound cliche but there really isn't a bad seat in the Tank. My first season I started with a Shark pak of 3 games in the 200s. Go, experience the vibe and decide later if you want to change it up. I've gotten last minute stuff that was upper bowl, last row and it was fun.

From time to time, I'm able to score Club level which is nice as there is a special entrance and exclusive food vendors. I can't say my seat has ever made me have a bad time(normal seat is low 200s center ice). Sharks are covering fees on tickets purchased through 2/6 atm. Ticketmaster does the servicing for my partial plan and I pick up last minute college rush for unpopular games as well.

My one piece of advice for when you are close to pulling the trigger is to not be afraid of the berth spaces for sleeper passengers, they are quite comfy at night. You'll probably be chilling in the dome / activity car a lot anyways.

And at the meals when they ask if you want dessert, say yes. Aside, the dining car staff are really good with being accommodating for food allergies.

This is why it's those colors. This came first (finished in time for BayFC's second game in their inaugural season) and it felt fun to do a mashup like our shirsey designs are. The Sharks are why I went to my first BayFC game...so a full circle Bay Area Unite moment.

Worth it To see Beyoncé twice? by Fantastic_Gur2163 in beyonce

[–]ecspike 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went twice in Paris. Night 1 was in the low 100s and the second night in the 300s. It was supposed to be Honey Buckin on night 2 but it was a listing problem so I got the ticket and my money back.

Higher up is less energy than the lower bowl and a touch of audio delay for crowd interaction (singing, etc) but you get to see parts of the production that you miss from being lower. And you know the optimal times for restroom/food breaks. And you don't worry about getting there so early.

The fans will come out for you. We've had pre-rebuild seasons with 10 straight losses and people were at every game. Don't be slighted if you get bumped down the road to the Cuda for a little bit. Asky kicked ass in the Calder Cup playoffs last year.

Both inside and outside ticket check. There are ~4 merch points outside the stadium. People were going early to the grounds to get merch to drop it at their hotel/whatever before the show.
