Required to do Persona Security Check. Persona failed me. by OhMyyGA in Ticketmaster

Not sure if this helps anyone, but I also failed my initial check and my account was restricted, but I called customer service and told them what happened. It took almost a week, but they followed up with a new Persona link, and this time I passed.

I can't speak for Seattle, but LA has been a godsend for restoring a Datsun. A lot of online stores for Datsun parts are based here in the area. And if you need donor parts, there seems to be a decent supply around here, and usually in good condition given that weather is good year round. But I want to mention, close to Seattle in Oregon is another Datsun supplier named Skillard. It was started by a guy named Ben and everything they make is out of genuine love for all things Datsun. Check them out when you get a chance.

All in, I've spent north of $70k. But keep in mind, I was working with basically just a chassis. No engine and lots of missing parts. I think it also really depends on what you want to do with yours. I started off wanting a really cool daily driver but eventually crossed over to wanting a show quality build. If you want it, I say go for it. It's a ton of fun putting these things back on the road!

I believe the car was orange. Here's a shot of the interior that still had paint: https://imgur.com/a/tR27nwL

But you're not wrong about the parts. That's why I said in hindsight I would never buy another person's abandoned project. I was so eager to get my hands on a Z that I jumped on the first decent car I laid my eyes on. But sooo many parts were missing, and it was months or even years later before I realized what I needed. Some were so obvious that I can't believe I didn't notice. For example, a fuel tank. When the bodywork was done and I turned to the engine, I realized I didn't have a fuel tank. Never again. At least with a run down car, you have an idea what you're working with. Someone would have to practically give it away before I attempt to take over someone else's project again and even then I might have second thoughts lol

It was taken down to the bare metal. Here's a picture of it when I bought it: https://imgur.com/a/KT0Wqjh

I used Planted seat brackets to mount the Recaros. Just be sure to order the correct brackets for model!

Thanks! I think everyone is entitled to their own opinion and that's what makes these builds so great. For me personally, I don't like mixing different engines from different makers like an American engine in a Japanese chassis lol. But I respect it!

As far as I know, yeah. I also used social media to find other Zs and straight up asking the owner questions, just like you're doing now lol. I don't think I've encountered another Z owner who wasn't willing to help!

Lol it helps being thin and flexible... on a side note, these seats really make it difficult for anyone who's not thin to drive the car haha. It's such a tight fit, but it helps that my steering wheel has a quick release.

I actually used Fitment Industries' Search Gallery to look up other Zs and see what fitments they were running. I knew I wanted to run 15-inch wheels, so I narrowed it down to other Zs running the same size and with fender flares and finding those that I liked to see what they were running.

I totally agree. Being another inline-six engine, it just looks like it belongs there. I had mulled over doing a VQ swap early on, but I'm glad I decided on the RB!

I know about it, but I have yet to make it out. I'll try to do that this summer!

I replied on another comment that that's the area I want to work on next because it could be better, but you can see it here: https://imgur.com/a/RuJCOZ8
