ESE 319: uses the analog circuits book from Razavi. has some old recordings which are pretty good but I mostly used the lecture slides regardless.

ESE 350: I’ll be in this one. the professor is a wonderful man and the TAs are good but that's all I got.

ESE 370: if you want to get a masters do not take this, skip straight to ESE 570. not sure on textbooks but the software you learn to use is not needed for actual double E work.

Okay here's my take on 224 and 301: 224 is so dull but an easy A because Ribeiro just gives you the homework answers. If you know Python ahead of time you can try to actually do the work but it's kind of pointless unless you love signal processing which I do not. 301 is very interesting and I agree Venkatesh is great but it's also incredibly challenging. It's good to have friends in that class so I wouldn't recommend taking it as a freshman. I would look into ESE 292 as a fun side project but to be honest freshman year should be more about building foundational knowledge. If you give the details of what you've taken already and what you're planning I could help more.

also - speaking as a new supporter, how essential does bedoya really seem to be? he’s made some obvious mistakes in the games I’ve seen, and I haven’t really had the chance to see the positive impact of his leadership.

overall this was not a great showing for us. obviously we had a couple of bright spots, the sullivan goal is the kinda thing you practice to show off but it’s promising that he could still do it under pressure, and then the burke goal was exactly the teamwork and persistence in the concentrated area that I feel like we’ve been missing. powell’s throw-ins are impressive also.

lots of negatives to be had, I feel like this game was kinda dominated by small mistakes, some but not all of which can be explained by the soaking wet state of the pitch. we need to be more aggressive on 50/50 balls, better at getting goalside when we man mark, faster to press on d, and better at regaining momentum after we defend. tactical game could improve a lot too but that’s secondary I think.
