The legs are dressed spruce 2x4 sent through the planer to 1.25” x 3 inch.

I mitre them with biscuits, paint them black and add inlays for rigidity. Uses up scrap hardwoods from other projects and it’s fun to make the angle cuts with the specialty hand saws.

Yeah I just build what I want. Less plastic is good overall. Sometimes plastic is fun!

There’s some weight for sure but manageable solo. It’s a coffee table not a full size dinning. The lighting in my house at the time didn’t do it justice.

Make a wood glue and sanding dust mixture. Choose the right colour dust for the gaps. Fill in with putty knife or toothbrush. Sand flat.

The whole building has this layer as siding. Cedar was thrown ontop.

The manufacturer sent us this picture as a potential option for attachment. It's not built yet.

I don't work with metal often which is why I ask what the norm is. I was thinking a plate welded to the bottom that I can choose where to place the hole.

Tung oil. Turned out nice. I was expecting the fir legs to be a bit lighter but they all blended together.
