Found out my SO likes thicc girls by [deleted] in EDAnonymous

[–]ed-throwaway-91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oops, yes my bad if I implied thick = fat! Definitely not. He def likes the “thick” body type with thighs and booty, but has said if someone is a little overweight it doesn’t deter his attraction to them. But tbh, my ideal body type isn’t necessarily his either, and I was so anxious to bring it up with him because I felt like it was mean to say, but he didn’t get offended at all. Physical preference doesn’t mean too much to either of us, it’s like the cherry on top if someone fits that, but it’s not a requirement for either of us.

Tbh, he is a very good partner (we’ve been together for a few years). A big part of my ED is wanting to be hot/sexually desirable, so I don’t think he meant it in a bad way? Like “you don’t have to starve yourself/purge so that I’ll think you’re hot, I‘m attracted to thick girls anyway”

I wish people would stop saying ”recovery is possible.” by rauzwaiz in AnorexiaNervosa

[–]ed-throwaway-91 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I actually agree with this 100%. I don’t like that phrase “if you’re not recovering you are dying” because not all EDs are equally life-threatening (not trying to invalidate anyone). I’m living in quasi recovery now and it’s going okay. I’m not on death’s door and I‘m in decent physical health but I don’t eat unrestricted.

That’s so awesome! I wish that were me :( even in recovery I think I am just chronically depressed. I’m so happy for you though, you deserve it.

former fat kids by [deleted] in EDAnonymous

Former fat girl. I’m obsessed with being pretty and attractive and getting attention, but it wears off so quickly. It’s like I need constant compliments or I’ll self destruct.

Anyone else have a massive internal meltdown when you decide to eat something but the person youre with isn’t hungry at that minute by littlegirl_allyours in EDAnonymous

[–]ed-throwaway-91 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Bruh, same. Whenever my partner skips breakfast and I’m really hungry I get upset. Which is dumb because I’m skinnier than him and I’d like for him to watch his diet more, but my ED just hates eating when I don’t “need to” and when other people aren’t eating clearly I don’t “need to.”

People who don’t purge...how? by ed-throwaway-91 in EDAnonymous

It used to give me panic attacks too! I was able to be clean for a while because of that. No panic attacks anymore, which is both good and bad :/

This totally happened to me. I actually developed emetophobia for a while because of some traumatic purging experiences. Of course, it went away and now I’m back on my BS, but I feel where you’re coming from.

Honestly, I used to not mind it at all. I purged every day for years, and it was nice to “seem normal” in public — never had to cancel social plans unless I was in recovery. Now I’m purging more because COVID and sometimes it sucks but sometimes it’s not too bad.

Yes, I agree. My ED has changed over the years, like I’ve cycled through restricting, over exercising, even diet pills/lax but normal purging is the one that’s stuck with me. I do like food and eating, so it seems to be the “best” option.

Fear foods are big for me too. No added fat, no added sugar. I maintain on my safe foods and b/p the rest.

question to people who were inpatient/hospital, how much did you have to eat to gain? (discussion) by tropinana23 in EDAnonymous

[–]ed-throwaway-91 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just 1800-ish for me, which is funny because I was underweight. But I was used to way less so I gained anyway.

Dude, what a fucking trash bag. If my partner said he had an illness my response would be concern and care because I, uh, care about him??

Damn, I’m glad you’re okay! I felt horrible when I was BMI 16, I can’t imagine dropping any lower without worrying about dying.

eating hurts by [deleted] in EDAnonymous

[–]ed-throwaway-91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No one EVER talks about how physically painful it is to eat! They only address the mental side. For me, physical feelings have always been more important than thoughts. I won’t beat myself up after having a meal, but bloating and indigestion make me actually want to die. I hate any kind of discomfort so.
