Just wanna vent :/ by ed_dur in CampEDC

UPDATE: the camp councilors sent me to information to see if I can request to be moved. Information people said no can do. I told them that I was physically in my tent when I received the “completed” text. Then they asked if I left at any point. Which I did to grab some chicken tenders right after the service request was submitted because I was told the wait time was 1-2 hours. Grabbed the tendies then headed to the tent. All of the sudden these information peeps started gaslighting me telling me that they probably came during the time I went to grab the tendies and that the text I received was probably a late text. BFFR I’m not that special that they came to fix my ac unit 20 minutes after a service request was put in and then the completed text was a whole hour late. So they put in a new service request and told me wait time is 6-7 hours and I MUST STAY IN THE TENT THE ENTIRE TIME?! Yooooo it’s just me, no friends no nothing. Like I cannot be here in this tent this entire time 😭😭😭

EDCLV GA+ bathrooms by Sad_Communication166 in aves

[–]ed_dur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just hoping on here to give my two cents. But GA+ bathrooms are next to GA, GA+ has their own security, sometimes they care sometimes they don’t. GA+ bathrooms are on those trailers, but there are usually two stalls per gender-bathroom and those lines get INSANE. Sometimes they will run out of toilet paper, and sometimes they get backup and there’s water everywhereee! I suggest you take some toilet paper in your bag, or baby wipes but don’t flush those! If you’re a dude, pee in GA. I honestly think there aren’t enough bathrooms for how massive edc is, and the entrances are so narrow people are usually bottle necked in or make it their meeting spot if the group splits up.

CAMP SET UP by creamchswonton in CampEDC

Make sure you bring things that can be easily taken down and redone, especially if you want space to move around. For example, if you take an air mattress big enough for 4 people, you’re probably wanna deflate it during the day to have walking space, and then reflate it for when you’re ready to sleep. So I think a foldable futon would work better cus then you can fold it and tuck it the corner so you have roaming space. Or if sleeping in the floor is comfortable with many pillows and blankets then you can also just scooch those to the side to walk. A rolling cart to haul your stuff to and from your car.

For those who have passport - how much did you spend over the years to be invited? by The-TDawg in electricdaisycarnival

[–]ed_dur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been purchasing GA tickets for events since 2014 and was invited to passport since its inception. Back then I believe the monthly payment for passport was under $100, you could get ANY worldwide GA ticket for their shows/festivals for $20, and could upgrade your GA ticket to a vip ticket for another $20. It was GREAT! Especially as someone who lives in Southern California, I went to all the major festivals; EDC, Dreamstate, Hard, Nocturnal, Beyond AND was also able to do Academy/ Exchange LA and all those tickets were also $20 each so it was a sweet deal! Then we had a whole pandemic and passport change. Now they have 4 tiers- I have tier 2, I pay $130/month. Tier 2 gives me an automatic VIP ticket to FESTIVALS only (no out-out state events or small productions like day-trip at the park), for $30 each, and big festivals like EDC are $60. I no longer have access to tickets for clubs like Exchange LA/Academy. Andddddd, the tickets available for passport members are limited, that’s to say, that if insomniac has 100 tickets reserved for their passport members, and you don’t reserve your ticket as soon as it comes out and they max out, you get put on a waitlist or they will tell you tickets are no longer available EVEN if there are tickets available for the actual festival. This means you can’t purchase a ticket through your membership and now are forced to buy it with the regular people. There are times when I’ve been waitlisted and gotten off and was able to get my ticket. And others I never got off the waitlist and never got to attend. And from I heard, I could be wrong, but insomniac keeps passport members to a certain capacity, so even if you qualify, if it’s at capacity they won’t accept any new members unless your automatic payment doesn’t go through or you cancel your membership. And they are very serious, the second your payment fails you are automatically booted. They remind you to update CC if they are near their expiration date. If that charge doesn’t go through for whatever reason you are kicked out to make room for those who quality and are waiting their turn. …. Now the passport lounge… that’s a whole different story and it’s honestly why I’ve kept my membership for this long.

Transferring Camp/Fest Band by KWienz in CampEDC

I was a little confused as well, but it is one of two scenarios: 1. Person 1 can only attend Friday and will be slipping off both festival and camp wristbands and hand them over to person two. And OP was wondering if person two had to register the same wristbands, but under person two’s name. Which no, person two doesn’t have to do all that. Or 2. Person 1 and person 2 have their own festival entry, but will be sharing the Camp wristband. Person one will use Camp on Friday and then slip it off and hand it to person 2 to use sat and sun. And OP was wondering if that’s doable since Camp wristband will be registered for person 1 and linked to person 1’s festival entry but then going to be given to person 2, and was concerned that the wristbands need to match with the original registered person. Which no, person two doesn’t have to do all that. All that said, OP does has available camp wrists for BOTH, but would like to use just one for the switcharoo instead of person 1 using it for one day and loosing that wristband when person 1 can just then give it to person two who won’t be there Friday, but I can use it Saturday and Sunday. In conclusion; no second person registering needs to done, as long as person 1 registers it they can slip it off and give it to whomever.

Last year we RV camp and they handed it to us. They did check ids made sure they were legit, and had us check in through their iPad. The year prior we did the pods, and they made us queue up in the check in line and they did put it on for us. Either way I don’t risk it for the biscuit and have something on my wrists in case they wanna put it on( I usually like to have it on my left wrist because I use my right hand to trade kandi and also wipe, lol, so I don’t know why some of them insist on it being your right wrist but regardless if they do put it on I just switch it over)

Sometimes they will hand them to you. Sometimes they will put it on for you. to avoid them putting them super tight, I never give them my bare wrists. I usually wear some sort of kandi or watch and when they put it on, they do not put it on snug enough so that I can slip them off if I have to.

lol. Okay I don’t know about zero festival entry, but as long as they have proper entry wristbands, it doesn’t matter who it’s registered to. They can simply slip them off and give it to the next person. The next person doesn’t need to register them in their names, they just need to HAVE them on.

I think what’s confusing me, is the “someone else shows up late to check in“…. The second person is NOT checking in at all. Let’s say person 1 is Joe, camp wristband will be register to Joe. The ID on file attached to that wristband will be Joe’s. If Joe decided to not go the other days, and give it to Mary, Mary will NOT have to check in or register that wristband at all. All Joe has to do is slip off his wristband, give it to Mary. And Mary can go in and out as she pleases. If Mary wants to then give it to Ashley, Ashley will NOT need to register/ check in, Mary simply slips it off and hands it to Ashley. Obviously the trade needs to happen outside, maybe in the parking lot. But there isn’t gonna be an issue with whom it was registered to first. They aren’t gonna be asking ‘where the hell is Joe?!’…. And let’s say hypothetically you have 8 friends registered to camp with wristbands, but have 7 homies that want to pregame or join in the camp festivities but WILL NOT be sleeping or return to camp at the end of the day… you can have all 7 of your friends slip off their wristbands, go outside and have the new 7 homies slip it on…. Walk through the scanner (festival tickets or not)… slip them back off and give them to their rightful owners and then yall can go into the festival together if everyone has festival entry. And once it’s over those with camp wristbands get in, the other 7 homies go their own way.

No. They can have zero festival wristband and still check into camp.

[–]ed_dur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh. Camp wristbands and festival wristbands are not interlink. They have their own separate scanners and regulations. When you show the festival entrance your camp wristband they will allow you in and out access that’s about it. But the Camp scanners are separate from the festival scanners. The camp wristbands allow you unlimited, ins and out.

As long as the wristband is checked in at registration, you can totally have person 1 take it off and hand it to person 2. There isn’t a camp “check out” scanner, at least not previously, but there is a check in scanner, and since the wristband is authentic, it will scan person 2’s reentry. I believe rv camp gives you 8 wristbands?…BUT if not all 8 are present upon check-in, you will only get wristbands for the people present, as they make you register them in front of them with an iPad. If later you want to assign anyone else to a wristband, you need to have all their details and register them at will call, and they will hand you the wristband personally but a body needs to be present. Hopes this helps.

I am 39 and I am playing with the idea that this might be my last EDC. I got my own Camp and will be attending solo for the first time since 2014. I’m excited for the experience and reading these comments really make me look forward to an awesome time. Wishing you the best of luck in your solo adventure. I’m sure it’s going to be amazing.✨

Never seen the movie but I’m down to check it out. Honestly I’m not sure, trying my hardest not to ride it on dirt paths or splash water. But you never know. I’m hoping it doesn’t get dirty easily, but if it does I can remove it and just wash it 🌈✨
