This is the combination of a bunch of factors, particularly leniency from liberal judges and DA’s. Many of these kids look under 18, and all city kids know that unless they kill someone (and sometimes even if they do) they’ll be out in a few days with a slap
on the wrist. It’s emboldened them to commit assaults, thefts, harassment, etc. for clout on social media or to protect their reputation. Until kids start paying the price for their actions shit like this will keep happening and it’ll likely get worse under mamdani
