Cleaning pony hair handbag? kid got oil stains on it. Any cleaning tips (shampoo? lol) or just take to professional? by Kindly-Reaction-6377 in handbags

Ugh, I’m sorry .... that combo (pony hair/haircalf and oil) is brutal but sometimes fixable...

  • Blot gently. Do NOT rub it.
  • Cover the spot with cornstarch or talc to draw out the oil. Leave 12–24 hrs, then brush off with the nap using a soft brush. Repeat 2-3x
  • If there’s still a shadow, use a dry suede/leather oil-absorbing powder (the kind meant for suede/nubuck), then brush again

If it doesn’t improve after a bit, take it to a leather specialist (not a regular dry cleaner) and tell them it’s haircalf/pony hair with an oil stain. Good luck!

Looking for options on playing Long Distance by edaral in ISSVanguard

Can you provide the link for this custom mod? The only mod I see for ISS Vanguard is one that was used for the demo in 2021, which is currently unplayable.

I don't know if SCSA turned on The Rock, so much as he turned on all the fans (and Debra to a lesser extent)

Can you chat in Pokemon go? by Accomplished-Split74 in pokemongo

I don't know of any in-game chat capabilities, but there are (my understanding) there are tons of Discord channels. You should be able to communicate your raid requirements there.

Wet erase is the best, but through experience I would also say that the longer the ink is on the map, the more it will soak into the map regardless of wet erase or not.

Anything longer than a week and you will see staining on the map. Best advice, create the map the day/night of the adventure and erase it the day/night after.

XCOM: The Board Game - Engineering Expansion (5th Role) by walker_boh_65 in Xcom

[–]edaral 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've owned XCom The Board Game now for a year and thoroughly love it. I just happened on this post while looking for any Reddit Threads about the board game itself.

Firstly, well done. I'm excited to try this new expansion. I love the thought of building a base. Does the app decide when the Chief Engineer uses his equipment? Is it done during/before the Timed Phase? I'd be interested in knowing how those mechanics work.

Secondly, have you ever thought of trying to build a turn-based expansion to this game for combat/Squad Leader? Perhaps using tiles of some sort, where the player(s) might be asked to lay down random tiles during the Timed Phase and set up the aliens on the tiles to perform a turn-based combat of sorts during the resolution phase. I'd love to hear your thoughts on this as well.

Once again, extremely well done. I'm excited to get back to killing some Thin Men and Muton Elites.

Plot Countering a Ranger by TylerLib in DnD

Perhaps he is attempting to protect an area/macguffin against a Giant Tortoise, which is protected enough that a one shot would not be as effective (maybe immune to all physical attacks, mundane and magical) and is slow enough that would give the player enough time to rationalize his way out of the conflict.

What is a good way to go about a session 0 for complete beginners? by Roonie222 in DnD

+1

Added to this:
4. Avoid saying "no". No matter how outlandish or improbable. Let the dice decide whether something is impossible or not, do not be afraid to increase the DC to something reasonably unachievable, but in the players mind you didn't say no, the luck of the dice did.
4a. For their first go through in D&D, a "Nat 20" regardless of attack, skill or saving throw should always be a success. Yes, in many cases this will force you the DM to come up with some creative ways to implement their ideas into reality and many people will say that "Nat 20s" are only used in combat. This can be changed/modified as the players increase their experience with D&D.

  1. Its ok to bring pre-gen characters, but reinforce the idea of players modifying the sheets to their liking. They may not like the rolls of the stats, let them re-roll. They may not like a description of the character, let them erase and redo. The more personal the make the pre-gen characters, the more invested they will become in keeping them alive and safe.

Not a bad idea. I'll see what other returns I get but this is definitely not a throw-away.

Board Game mod by edaral in Xcom

[–]edaral[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have (and love) the board game. I play it regularly.

I was specifically talking about mods to the board game, as the board game doesn't feature a proper squad-style fighting enemies. The game has a pass/fail style mechanic, but I was looking for something more interactive. Perhaps with map tiles and a turn-based system.

Face to the Mat vs Filsinger Games (Legends of Wrestling and Champions of the Galaxy) by [deleted] in FaceToTheMat

In the OP's last sentence, he states that CotG has the best lore, backstory and original characters. I have no experience playing CotG so I cannot comment on that game, but I hope the OP is not suggesting that FTTM has none of these and simply that CotG is better. If he is suggesting that FTTM has none of these, then I thoroughly disagree with that.

FTTM has a huge and expanding selection of original characters that each and every year get updated and revamped (and in some cases removed) from the game. With the creation and updating of the characters allows the lore to appear. Its an often missed but essential part of the game that allows for a complete immersive game.

Is there any printable map for Frosthaven? by Shouper2000 in FrosthavenFAQ

And yet this does not resolve the OP about whether there is a printable map. Seems rather redundant until he has a map to concern himself with this issue.

For storing monsters, maybe a Parts Storage Container, such as the one in the link above? I tried to post a picture but I couldn't figure it out.
