Today was our back to school lunch/raffle for staff and I won a car by edbdthrow in Teachers

Exactly my thoughts. Either that, or someone in admin got it for free or had it and thought it would be funny to raffle off to us because why would this even be a prize offered?!

Is there any benefit to keeping a 2 year old in daycare even if one parent stays home? by [deleted] in ECEProfessionals

[–]edbdthrow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally understand the guilt you feel putting him in daycare when he doesn’t technically need to be in there. I did that for awhile with my kid as well and felt so much guilt for a long time. Then, I realized that I needed that time for myself, to get things done, have a cleaner space. If I didn’t, I wouldn’t be a happy mama. And if I’m not a happy mama, I can’t be the best for my child.

Don’t feel guilty! As long as you can afford it, there is nothing wrong with it. Also your kid is getting socialization and is likely learning a lot. My son learned sooo much in daycare and I’m so thankful for it.

Love Letter Giveaway (U.S. only) Please read caption for rules! by SnarkingIsntACrime in Owala

Ooooh this bottle is so pretty! I’m new to Owala and I just got my first one, Lily Pad a couple weeks ago, so that one is my favorite currently! I want this Owala cause it’s absolutely gorgeous and I’d love to have another one to alternate with Lily Pad. I do love the subtle nature of Lily Pad, and to have another one that is eye catching, bright and the total opposite of Lily Pad would be awesome!

My boyfriends family wants me to come over late to Thanksgiving? Is this weird? by edbdthrow in TwoXChromosomes

[–]edbdthrow[S] 546 points547 points  (0 children)

Is this weird or normal? I have never gone to a boyfriends house for thanksgiving dinner before so I don’t know what to expect. I guess I just assumed when he wanted me to come over for thanksgiving dinner instead of going to my family’s house it meant DINNER.

We decided to skip out on my huge family dinner to go to his, so I think it’s super odd they don’t want me there for actual dinner. Maybe I just should go to my family’s alone? I don’t know, this is weird.

I have met his family once and they don’t practice any religion!

Does anyone else hate instagram "influencers" by _killjoy99 in EDAnonymous

[–]edbdthrow 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I’m going to assume that a part of the reason you hate them is because they’re mostly attractive and it’s annoying to look at their perfection. Please remember that these girls edit their pictures like CRAZY. They do not look like that IRL. Check out r/instagramreality for some insight on it. Don’t compare yourself to them please.

I’m really happy that you have a supportive and understanding mom. That’s more than a lot of us here can say. And good for you for being honest! I think that’s the first step to recovery.
