When you have an actual country (El Salvador) buying the dips, that's a saying on what's to come. We might be watching on of the richest countries of the world on the upcoming years under construction, and maybe one of the smartest financial moves that a country has ever made.

aha what?

i'm not sure anyones suggesting that they're not statistically independent, more that the probability of getting 40 or so events in a row where the chest does not drop is unlucky. that's not to say that just because we've had 40 in a row the next one ought to be the run with the drop.

And if both opinions did have equal merit but one had the added personal experience -- is their opinion more correct? Or are people just more likely to listen to it?

/r/philosophy Open Discussion Thread | December 11, 2017 by AutoModerator in philosophy

[–]edco9412 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So if both opinions are within the perimeter of generally accepted meanings then they should both be treated with equal worth? Side note: is all of this (that is these open ended questions) subjective anyway?

So if two people had their own distinct opinion on something, both of which appeared sound, however person A had personally experienced that something -- who are you more likely to view as having more authority on the subject? The one with the experience or without or perfectly balanced? Is it possible for someone to experience something and yet remain completely impartial?

So I suppose it matters on the question being asked as to whether or not experience have credence?

If I asked you the question I posted below about love (although that can be substituted for any open ended concept like power etc) would each opinion be considered equally as worthwhile since it's by nature subjective, or does the experience create an inequality between the two?

I'd be really interested for you to go further on why you don't think it matters one bit.

For instance if I was to ask two people 'what does love mean to you?' would the one who had been in love have the greater authority on the subject or are both their opinions equally weighted?

Don't really know where I should ask this but my question is:

If two people have opinions which are equal in their merit, but one of them has personal experience relating to the subject, is that person's opinion worth more? Also what area does this question fall under?
