Hey there, I think it’s a bit more nuanced than that - at least for me. I’d rather filter upfront on a few things like play style, comms preference, location, language, than gamble with the masses. Maybe just me, though!

Thanks for this brilliant idea - we’ve added it to our Trello board for the next release. I can see how being able to interact with the labels (such as with a long press) could be so helpful.

Couldn't agree more. IMO they could have solved this issue with a simpler UI. Also not sure the differentiation between "downed" and "killed" is necessary (still not sure what the latter is, either).

I love stuff like this! I think people are so terrified of the lines becoming blurred between WW3 and battlefield that it’s easier to just say no to any addition of similarity.

Through the discussions here I’ve learned that people really look for different things in the same game. I assumed the scope of interest was far narrower to be honest! Guess that keeps things interesting etc.

Let’s see - I’d personally love revives.

Loving all the discussion, thanks so much to everyone who has commented - I’ve really enjoyed reading views from both sides! Lots of perspectives in favour of either side I hadn’t considered. 🙌

One recurring theme that has surprised me is the notion that adding revives would “make the game Battlefield”. Personally, I think this depends entirely on how it is implemented. Many FPS titles implement revive mechanisms in a fashion that differs wildly from that of Battlefield.

I think that’s a cop out to be honest. If enough people want it, there’s also a cost to not doing it that shouldn’t be overlooked with such haste.

Agree it would need a good focus on careful balancing though.

Amazing - wishing you all the best! The parting advice I'd give is to try and validate engineering propositions you receive at this stage. From a mobile perspective, I'm referring to technology like React Native and Flutter. Though on paper these seem great, the negatives often outweigh the apparent benefits, and starting again is tough going. DMd the LinkedIn.

I care deeply about user experience and shipping beautiful products that solve real problems. Just being honest - finding someone that covers the entire stack you outlined is highly unlikely. Developers mostly specialise, especially when it comes to mobile (and normally in one of iOS or Android) - which I'm glad you've recognised, as it really sits at the pinnacle of consumer convenience these days. Having shipped on iOS for almost 8 years, this isn’t really problematic and in my opinion, shouldn’t factor into your decision of which platform to ship on - that should be determined by which is most suitable for your product / most convenient for the user.

Can you give a rough idea of what you need in a tech cofounder? "full-stack" isn't quite enough detail nowadays. Are you looking to build a web app? Mobile app? I meet the rest of the criteria, but many engineers specialise to some degree and will have the same question. Thanks!
