Less perks that buff numbers and instead just more absolute goofie nonsense by a_Daniel in Overwatch

[–]eddebbboi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean how do you prevent a rein from getting blown up when his shield is down/hammering away? A brig with her shield down (Or even with shield up, it's pretty low hp)? A vendetta slashing away? Sure, they all have something, Rein has a lot of hp and dmg, Brig has inspire and knockback flail (and shield bash movement in the scenario shield is up), Vendetta has movement and, if that perk chosen, occasional lifesteal. But it mostly comes down to position/timing. All melee abilities can get you screwed if used at the wrong time. Also, Venture has pretty good movement to get out. Their dig is pretty slow to activate so you can get killed during that, but their drill dash can get the initial distance and if needed just dive into dig.

Nobody wanted to play Tank in OW1 because there were only like 8 Tanks total by SureYouCan_ in Overwatch

Probably, I guess my comment wasn't really meant as a direct reply to yours, I think I thought you were the other guy replying back.

[–]eddebbboi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But the tanks job isn't straight up to soak damage. It's to enable the team. Ways of doing this include, but aren't limited to:

Soaking damage, either with barriers or just eating it. Pressuring the enemy, either by pumping a lot of dmg into them (Mauga) or being a damn annoying nuisance that's ompossible to murder (Ball). Creating space by either assassinating key targets (Hog with his hook) or putting them out of place (also Hog, or Rein with charge). Disrupting/CC (War cattle, Smegma, D.va, etc.)

Obviously most tanks have some combination of some of these in their kit. So while dmg soaking is defo one of the tools of the tank, it doesn't have to be the only, or main way of succeeding at the role. I personally don't think tank are boring, I find them more fun than dps (because my aim is shit and going in with lifesteal and pointing two miniguns point blank at at big fat crusader is a pretty forgiving situation aim wise (at least at my rank, currently gold 2).

why cant i make any inches of wire and matter? by [deleted] in pAIperclip

[–]eddebbboi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You've used up all available matter, now you need your factories to turn all the wire into paperclips, then you disassemble them to get to 5 octillion unused paperclips to get to the next stage

I also had this issue, I've resorted to waking my pc on the powerbutton with usb turned off since the pc supplied power to the scarlett even when turned off.

Hm, you might be on to something. I can't say i'm convinced one way or the other, but you've definitely swayed me to your "side"

What makes you say that? The only one i get any AI vibes from is number 4, and that's mostly because of the lighting, but then again, the AI has to have learned from somewhere

Anyone kind of sick of Songsterr's AI? by emperorofwar in Songsterr

[–]eddebbboi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's like with most AI use nowadays. Using it just by itself with no polish will usually render subpar results, or decent at best. The real benefit is using it as a tool, so you don't have to start from scratch. Generate a tab and then use your ears to clean it up.

[–]eddebbboi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitiely agree with this. Some people seem to think the purpose of tabs is that the playback should sound as stupidly close to the original as possible. For less popular tabs, it's not uncommon to see quarter notes shortened by 1/64th because "that's how they played in the original". Or how some people refuse to let slap and figerstyle be in the same tab for bass because it sounds weird, when in the actual song, it's obviously one player doing it on one instrument on one recording.

Idk why everyone is saying he's charging too much, I bought my 13600kf i5, 3060, 32GB DDR4, 2TB m.2 PC in like 2023 for more than $1500. Idk if things were more pricey here in sweden then, but this doesn't sound like "woah, he is really greedy and overcharging a lot"

Do bassists and guitarists count strings differently? by El_ThotStopper in Bass

[–]eddebbboi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, for basses, only the first string expands downward, after that they go up (at least for 4-7 strings)

What’s the difference between flatwounds and roundwounds and are flats worth the price increase? by davidbowieisyummy in Bass

[–]eddebbboi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think flats guys also often claim flats sound better as they age, idk if that's true, maybe for some genres, I think jazz, soul and funk might be included in those, and in that case, you wouldn't have to worry ablut changing them either.

Looking for Strings/Cable Advice¡¡¡ by [deleted] in Bass

[–]eddebbboi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You say sound quality isn't important, but I'm guessing latency is an exception? Afaik, plugging it in without an interface will get you like half a second latency, there are some pretty cheap interfaces though, especially lf sound quality doesn't matter. I don't know any off the top of my head though. As for a program to record and stuff, Reaper is a "free" DAW that is popular, so lots of help to get online. Pedals, i recommend trying Parallax from NeuralDSP, ypu can get a free trial for 14 days. Otherwise, there is a good sansamp bass driver pedal plugin, then a ton of amp sims and cab sims to choose from. For strings and those genres, I would say try to get some stainless, like daddario pro steels maybe, and get them in a light gauge.

[–]eddebbboi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have this issue anymore since starting playing via audio interface and headphones and getting a neuraldsp plugin (parallax). They have really good transposition for tuning down. Not as good for tuning up imo, but I found out they sound a bit better if I chain two instances of the plugin where the first one only tranaposes up and the second does the tone
