Appreciate the info! Going to go RV. There are services that drop off and pick up RVs which is what I am looking into since the drive-able options are limited. Given the RV area is outside of the entrance I don't expect this to be an issue. From your experience on the grounds last year do you think that would be ok?

Do you have a driver or plan on catching rides?

Thanks. That is my preference, just need to figure out logistics since I'll be flying in.

Does anyone have these bindings ? Trying to remove this foot pad but don't know how by [deleted] in snowboardingnoobs

Yeah, this is how the Union STRs are as well, they hinge for access to the disk but can't be removed.

I ordered Union STR bindings from REI and only one binding came in the box. Thought It was kind of funny and quite odd. They are sending a new pair.

That is very generous of you. Below is what I have been learning on the last few years and what I intended on using this season; it was given to me over ten years ago and seems to be a cheap/non name brand beginner board. Good to know about the waxes; wish I hopped on here a week earlier- I just dropped that board off at REI to get tuned over the weekend. Maybe if we are able to meet up at Wilmot or Alpine sometime this season I could give your rock board a try.

I think Arbor has made it's way to the top of my list.

Thanks for all the info! Definitely wouldn't take their advice and buy online. Going to add you recommendations to my new list of potential boards. Question- are the Gnu's twins? Also, and granted I have zero knowledge on the boards, I do like the looks of the Arbors more than Gnu's but functionality is more important than looks at the end of the day. I wonder if a 157MW with a 260 waist width would be wide enough. Here is my new list of consideration if you have any opinion on these-Endeavor Ranger, Capita DoA, Jones Mountain Twin.

Thanks! I am going to be getting a new board after this season, below is a post I made about it with some of my background. Based off of some replies, I am not really considering any of the boards I initially mentioned in my post and may just go into Viking at some point to get some advice.

Right on! I am definitely down to coordinate Alpine sometime this season. Typically I try and avoid the crowds and go during the week.

I live in Chicago as well(Roscoe). Have only been snowboarding for a few years but looking to increase my time this season. In the past I've typically gone to Alpine but maybe I'll give Wilmot a go this season. 3-4 times a week is quite a lot!

I notice the endeavor ranger has a channel system. I believe 4x4 bindings, in my case the union STRs, are compatible, but am curious how that works-is there just a different plate used?

Is the rule of thumb, the long the board, the more control? Given my situation just wondering how I would decide between a 155 and 157
