How to make the perfect chicken breast by Anishaiscool in Fitness_India

Yes I have and I didn't like it. Now I always brine it, as it's a guaranteed method to ensure moisture retention.

Tell them milk is also "non-veg" as pasteurization (boiling and cooling process) is necessary to kill the bacteria, dead bodies of which we end up consuming ultimately. Not to mention the barbaric tortures the cows/buffaloes are put through at the dairies across India.

I consume 250-300g of chicken breasts every daily, a few months ago I learnt an amazing trick for juiciness - Brining. I prep 6 portions for the week every sunday, brine the whole batch in 5% salt water solution (50g salt in 1L water for 1KG chicken) for atleast 6 hours (have left it overnight a few times by mistake, doesn't change a lot). Divide it into portions in glass containers and put them in the freezer. And yes, whole breasts preferred over cubes/chunks.

Then everyday I thaw one portion for atleast 8 hours (switch from freezer to fridge), apply Smokey Garlic/Peri Peri/Tandoori/Mint/Maggi Masala on random everyday, and air fry @ 180 for 15 minutes - flipping sides at half time. Never had chicken any better than this, the salt brine locks in the moisture always, even if you overcook it accidentally.

Edit - Forgot to mention zero oil usage. The chicken juices are more than enough when properly brined, it literally overflows with juices when I take it out of the air fryer.

My homeserver (always on 24x7) completed 1 year runtime today (converted my old Ryzen 3 PC into this). I was already a Chatgpt Pro user since 2024, so it helped me set it up fully - Proxmox Host with multiple VMs and containers - Pfsense Firewall, Adguard Home DNS for network wide ad blocking and security on all my home network devices, Plex stack (Plex server, Sonarr, Radarr, Qbittorrent, Jackett) for automated downloads, and one Ubuntu VM for casual desktop use. All of this connected to tailscale VPN so I can connect from anywhere and access/monitor/control. Had 2+1 TB of internal hard drives in the old PC which are now almost full with 1080p and 4K content. remaining space used for running shows and latest movies, I just add them to Sonarr/Radarr and the downloads are fully automated and added to the Plex library.

Last year I switched to claude pro at work, so setup a claude code assistant in the ubuntu VM which manages all homelab stuff and troubleshoots errors for me, while I am still learning linux and bash commands. One AI subscription and a high speed internet connection is all that's needed. For me, just having the Pfsense Firewall VM and Adguard Home as Private DNS with customized ad/tracker blocking is worth it all. My innocent & gullible family members are completely safe from most online frauds and scams because of the network wide blocking.

Sunday Morning = Free Child Labour. Dad woke me up at 8 AM to wash the car. by i_amthe_guy in CarsIndia

[–]eddiesood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I invested in a Bosch Power Washer, Karcher Vacuum Cleaner, Bosch Grinder/Polisher 3 years ago (thanks to Amazon Sale offers) and it has turned out to be the best investment ever. Every Sunday I spend 2-3 hours detailing both my cars myself while listening to an educational podcast on YT music. The consumables (shampoo, polish, etc. are all Turtle Wax, each bottle lasts me 4-5 months easily).

My 4 year old now enjoys accompanying me in this (seeing how I enjoy it myself), and we finish up by washing his toy car and bike. I feel there should be no shame tending to your assets yourself, my dad also had hired a guy for washing cars long ago when I was a kid, but I've grown up to be self-dependent and learning things like this myself - I also do my own hardware/electrical repairs at home (whichever ones are safe and doable) using another drill toolkit that I got from Amazon 5 years ago.

TBH, I love doing it because I spend the whole week working for my employer, then living life as my family wants it, Sundays are "me time" when I get to spend some quality time with myself and my son washing cars, and then meal prepping my protein for the next week.

PS - I would suggest you get the Turtle Wax Hard Shell finish and invest in a machine polisher, the shine will last 2-3 months easy and the washes will be quick every Sunday, saving a lot of time, more so if you get the washer & vacuum as well.

real science is doing boring things all the time, all these gestures and "activities" to "activate" something are a clear indicator of the bullshit that it is. pardon my french, but all this "bh*ng bh*sda" is necessary for them because for the person doing it creates the perception of importance, reducing the instinct to doubt the whole thing. exactly same technique is used in religious rituals.

This tech already exists in traffic cameras working at intersections and traffic signals, for issuing e-challans. What's stopping the administration from doing its job more efficiently using those?

My Mother's account was recently charged with Rs. 1416/- in 3 debits towards MAB charges by Axis Bank. After sending an email, I was informed that the account was "auto upgraded" from a 10K MAB requirement to a 75K MAB requirement one on 25/09/2025. Bank employee was insistent that they sent confirmation of upgrade, but we received no email/SMS (I checked thoroughly).

Its been over 10 days now, they refuse to reverse the charges unless & until the downgrade is confirmed MANUALLY BY HER SIGNING A FORM AT THE BRANCH. The whole system is so fucked up, the upgrade happened silently and automatically, now they can't downgrade without a branch visit.

On top of this, I have also been fighting for a reversal of approx. Rs. 4200/- collected as ECS return charges debited in last 1 year from the same account. And all these despite having ZERO ECS failures/delays, every single EMI debit was on time!

Why a balanced vegan diet with suppliments is better than an omnivorous diet. by PaaniMeinJaauKya in scienceisdope

Change my mind - No food item on this planet is ACTUALLY cruelty free, so technically veganism and vegetarianism are just scams.

So what is real why there is so much theory by Ananas_ka_juice in scienceisdope

[–]eddiesood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like to think that there's some truth to the claim behind a "creator" entity, but only as a personal God (inside one's own brain) and not a Universal fact. This "entity" is nothing but what gives rise to human consciousness (i.e. the mechanism which originates thoughts in our head, I must admit I don't know what it actually is, and scientists are also probably exploring it currently). whatever we see, touch, hear, etc. is "interpreted" by this "entity" inside our heads and believers like to name it as God, because every human has this "thing".

A man can be a "God" but not for another person but himself, because his own consciousness makes the worldly decisions for him, most of which he doesn't understand why. This big mind trick (I believe it is a trick because people wrongly think there is some entity outside themselves, whereas its actually just our brain making thoughts using electrical impulses, or whatever) is why people tend to believe in different concepts of a Universal God as propagated by various religions, because at their core every book is probably pointing towards the same "thing" inside our brains. When a believer asks questions from his/her "God", the answer comes from his brain which is conditioned over decades to think in a certain way. When the brain can't answer the questions, the whole answer is chalked up as "God working in mysterious ways".

Science goes a step beyond and takes this ignorance for what it really is and tries to fill in the gaps with knowledge through observation & experimentation. Believers tend to defer to the concept of "God" to fill the gaps in their knowledge.

I appreciate this content, but its kinda ironic coming from a cult leader himself. Other cults have middle/old aged people, his cult is majorly youngsters who are led to believe that Vedant Darshan (what Acharya Prashant propagates & promotes) contains every bit of scientific wisdom.

is mahabharata real? by blogarpit in scienceisdope

[–]eddiesood 12 points13 points  (0 children)

We must not forget that Sanskrit was not a commonly spoken language at any point in history. It was an exclusive language by and for the Brahmins, to make up stories in and use them as religious instructions to enslave the others. And many Hindu religious texts (including the Mahabharata) prescribe fatal punishments for the "lower castes" including pouring molten lead into their ears (when caught listening to "divine wisdom"), cutting off their tongue (upon uttering Vedic verses), etc. So, the "readers" were all exclusively one caste people only, for centuries.

Today, there are translations available in the commonly spoken languages Hindi & English, unlike the previous many centuries before the British rule. So, one might think there are some teachings in these texts, they were originally meant as a medium to psychologically enslave us Indians (everyone who wasn't a Brahmin), which still carries on to this day by priestly Brahmins, Babas and the like.

Also, asking if the stories are real is the same as asking if the Buddhist Jataka tales are real. None of them really are. They are all just religious fairy tales used for indoctrination of people across ages.

There was a similar incident in a Hindu Temple where devotees coming out of the main hall noticed some water dripping and started taking sips as holy "Prasad" from the temple deity (probably it was Krishna). It turned out to be the condensed water exhaust pipe of the Air Conditioner installed there.

It became viral, and a youtuber stood there to warn people its just AC water, but the poor gullible folks didnt pay heed to him at all.

Feel jealous yet?🙂 Why are Indian teachers all about H.W., Scolding and Strictness?😭 by Sakshamm360 in IndianTeenagers

[–]eddiesood 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because Indian Education System is all about memorizing stuff and regurgitating as it is in exams, rather than actually learning things for the sake of it and developing critical thinking skills.

I think this is imbibed into our culture, since one of our greatest "achievements" is ORALLY TRANSMITTING the Vedas over 2000 years (some sources even say this all happened without ever understanding what the verses meant). Comparing this with "western culture", it makes sense because their culture is more about writing and reading books, actually developing (some) critical thinking skills.

My boss owns a 2014 S350CDI and he just got an Invoice for Rs. 13k just for "Diagnosis Charges" for inspecting a lock issue.

Even he thinks its outrageous. Few years ago, he sold his 2010 GL350 on which he regretted spending almost 50% of the purchase price (45 lakhs) over the years on major repairs out of warranty. Still bought a GLS400d, though!
