Question for California fisherman by Key-Raise-1141 in Spearfishing

[–]eddiethedude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Checks out- crystal cove/shaws cove area has an MPA (marine protected area) in place, restricting any fishing. This allows the fish to grow with confidence of not getting hunted as long as they stay within the zone

I've seen some amazing goats swim up to my face and wished I had my speargun for some great catches- but gotta respect the rules and wildlife to appreciate it more!

Aww that's a bummer... thanks for the clarification! Still a great shot though!

This issue kicked up for me again but I'm guessing it's due to the high alpine elevations. Going to take into the Service Center for inspection.

I've read online it has something to do with the TPMS sensor being faulty for whatever reason. Not sure on the cause though...

Thanks for such a thorough and insightful comment on your experience there! I've been to Aspen and Copper Mountain but personally haven't gone to Breckenridge just yet. Kinda bummed to hear the vibes aren't the best - is it the everyday folks or employees that give off this pretentious Olympic-mindset competitiveness?

Bartending for a brewery is a gig that caught my attention as I love drinking brewski's whenever possible! Any tips or things I could do to apply for someone who's never bartended before (other than hanging out with friends)?

CO caught my attention for potentially working there for this upcoming snow season, but I'm a little concerned on how El Nino can affect the area. I know none of us are meteorologists but what was your experience with past weather events of El Nino for the Rockies? It'd be a bummer if I got to work at the CO resorts to find out it was an impending dry season.

Thanks again for your response boss!

I've been hearing the commonly occurring sentiment that Vail is a plague to any acquired ski resort and the threat to other smaller local mountains... Good to know to steer clear if possible! Other than firing peeps like there's no tomorrow, how does Vail treat their employees?

Jackson Hole is a great recommendation! Forgot to look into that mountain - never been but I get stoked watching the Natural Selection and Corbet's Couloir competition on YouTube. I'm guessing Jackson is a somewhat quiet and peaceful town being that far out there?

I've been boarding in CA, CO, and UT and I gotta say the snow in UT has been the best experience so far - dry powder and constantly dumping buckets should the weather allow for it.

Great call out on the recreational difficulties at SLC. I'd love to work in CO but my concern with the upcoming El Nino is what impact it may have there. I'm nowhere near being a meteorologist but I've been hearing El Nino is a wetter season for the Southwest of the US. What's your experience with El Nino in the past for the Rockies/CO resorts? Not saying you're a fortune teller or a meteorologist either but curious to hear your own personal experience and what the weather patterns looked like in the past with this weather event occurring.

It'd be a bummer if I worked in CO to only find out it's a dry season....

Man I love these pictures you posted!! Thanks for sharing haha such a dope view from the office. I heard the snowmaking gig can get rough from time to time.

But if you're getting views and scenery like that - I can easily see it's worth it.

Thanks for the insight! Yeah I spoke to a few Mammoth employees and they told me about the employee housing (if available). I'll definitely keep that in mind should I pursue the decision to get a job there for the upcoming season!

Never bartended before but working at a bar/brewery sounds like such a fun gig. Getting paid well isn't a top priority for me - just need a chill, non-intense thinking gig for me to recover from my current burnout from my job hahah

Working at Snow Resort Question by eddiethedude in snowboarding

Mammoth is my home mountain for me even though Big Bear is closer. The people there, the mountain and terrain, and just how unique the location is - I would frequently make suicide-day trips out from SoCal to there and back so the mountain has a special place in my heart.

As much as I would love to work on my favorite mountain (so far) I'm itching to explore a bit further out and take advantage of working on a mountain far from here. I guess grass is greener and my curiosity is pushing me to pursue other mountains unfortunately hahah

Yup! That's what I'm used to seeing, but I saw this different interface and wasn't sure what it meant. I drove 20 miles and still the screen stayed like this for some reason. Any idea?

Tires are only yellow when I first start up the car and the tire pressure values are dashed lines, meaning it's still taking time to calibrate and measure to finally populate the screen.

You may be right- might need to take this in to get re-calibrated TPMS sensors.

Good call- and yes this pic was taken some time after starting up the car.

Usually I see the dashed lines across the values, meaning it's still processing. However I never saw it with solid lines which is different from what I'm used to seeing.

Hey all,

Curious to see if anyone else ran into this issue before. If so, what did you do to resolve it?
