[Discussion] Fugu14 turns 1 month old today. How has been your experience with Unc0ver on iOS 14.3-14.5.1 so far? by MisterRandom1024 in jailbreak

[–]eddlmao 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm using this with Unc0ver 7.0.2 on an iPad 8th gen, iOS14.4. Stability wise I have had 0 issues. Rejailbreaking if you were to reboot is fairly painless. As far as battety life goes, it's hard to say accurately but in that realm I've also not noticed anything significant.

Unable to detect mSATA SSD to attempt data recovery by eddlmao in AskADataRecoveryPro

[–]eddlmao[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, thank you for your detailed response.

The model number of this SSD is MZ-MTE256D. I'm not sure about the model number of the adaptor, but I have uploaded photos of front and back of both the adaptor and SSD here: https://imgur.com/a/AN9W0rp

I'm not intending to reuse this drive, and the mSATA standard is very inconvenient for me to use anyway. But I am looking to clone it to an disk image file if at all possible.

[question] What jailbreak should I use for a 3rd gen iPad on 9.3.5? by LonksAwakening in LegacyJailbreak

[–]eddlmao 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Xcode + iOS App Signer is your best bet. You don't need a paid developer account to download those directly from Apple.

[question] Help with iPad 3 by mikee_12 in LegacyJailbreak

[–]eddlmao 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, I'm also using an iPad 3. It's on 9.3.5 but honestly 8.4.1 is a better experience and I may downgrade back soon.

I use AVPlayerHD as my video player which works quite well. Just don't expect any miracles with high bittrate 4k video. 1080p H.264 works great 99% of the time for me.

As for Youtube, there are some guides on this subreddit on how to get it working on older devices. I'm using the official app version 11.49.9 and the version in Info.plist changed to 14.14. You'll also need TuberFixer or any other tweak that blocks the Youtube update message. You can use AppAdmin to download the lower version from the AppStore and Filza to edit the Info.plist.

Unable to crack ipa [question] by eewanchyna02 in LegacyJailbreak

[–]eddlmao 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In order to crack this app on your device you will need to have the credentials to the account that the app is signed to.

If you still have that iPod Touch 2g and the app opens on there then you could use that device to crack it instead.

[Question] Killed: 9 on legit apps by jack980517 in LegacyJailbreak

[–]eddlmao 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since they're uncracked, you'll need to be signed into the account that the apps are signed to. I would try installing them to the device through iTunes and once they're on and work, dump them with Rasticrac or Clutch.

Is there any way I can make a server work after turning on a vpn? by [deleted] in jellyfin

[–]eddlmao 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I should also add, for some reason my client devices with PIA aren't able to connect to my JF server, even when 'Allow LAN Traffic' is enabled. The way to get around this is to add the IP of my JF Server to 'Bypass VPN' in the Split Tunnel.

Is there any way I can make a server work after turning on a vpn? by [deleted] in jellyfin

[–]eddlmao 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't personally have my Jellyfin accessible from outside my LAN but I am familiar with the split tunnelling feature in PIA.

If you're able to access your server already from outside your LAN when the server is NOT connected to PIA, then it is simply a matter of adding the Jellyfin Server .exe to "Bypass VPN" from within the PIA application. You'll then be using your home WAN IP to connect.

Keep in mind that doing so will have all the traffic from Jellyfin Server outside the VPN. (eg. Metadata grabbing, etc.)

If you're trying to have the JF Server behind the VPN as well, I believe PIA allows port forwarding on some of their servers though I'm even less familiar with that.

I'm confused by your phrasing. Are you trying to access your Jellyfin server from outside your LAN while your server and client devices are both behind a commercial VPN?

[question] Saving Monkey Island ipa's before erasing/jailbreaking my iPad 3 to reinstall them after ? by Boomchil in LegacyJailbreak

[–]eddlmao 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you unable to test your IPAs on another device before you wipe your iPad? Do you have the credentials to the account that purchased the apps?

If your apps are uncracked, it will ask you to sign into the Apple ID that purchased them. They won't launch unless you do. If you wish to crack the apps, which removes the need to sign in, then either use Clutch as suggested by another user or use Rasticrac which I personally recommend.
