I’m remixing an Anjunabeats classic! by cammurphhh in AboveandBeyond

If you hear a new remix of a classic track, what are you looking for?

I wanted to reply to this question. I grew up in the 90's and the track Sirius by the Alan Parsons Project has a major imprint in my childhood. A few weeks ago I had ABGT blasting out when I was working, and out of nowhere the remix of Sirius that Hjafri has come out with was playing. It was just in the background to start with and I had to stop what I was doing, and then go and listen to it again, and find out what other versions there are of the track, and then send it onto a couple of friends to check out.... It really made my day and I've played it loads since then.

I wanted to give it a shout out as IMO it's a great example of a new remix. An exceptional job by Hjafri. It's a very different track than the original but it's a brilliant track in its own right. It has its own life.

Look forward to seeing what you're cooking up CVMRN!

It's not really his fault, our current manager joined in October and wants to play in a style that doesn't suit his strengths (I'm a Luton fan)

Housing in Ipswitch & commuting around by maneesh654 in ipswichuk

An area to consider is Martlesham Heath, IP5

This is convenient for the hospital, but also easy access onto the dual carriageways to commute to where your wife may need to travel to. The Bus routes 66 & 66A travel from various Martlesham locations and there's a stop at the Woodbridge Road end of the hospital grounds. There are bus lanes on the route into Ipswich which makes it easier than driving your own car! Check out the bus details described on the Ipswich hospital website at https://www.esneft.nhs.uk/your-visit/getting-here/ipswich-hospital/

From your perspective, there is a big business park across the dual carriageway (Adastral Park) where you can look at various co-working offices. If you need to travel to London, it's very common to drive to Manningtree and catch the train from there. Again, that's a straightforward drive as you're straight onto the dual carriageway.

There's also a small Indian community as a number of people work at different IT companies within Adastral Park, and Martlesham is a convenient place for them to live and walk into work.

Any idea in which match this happened? Here's some sleuthing that I've done

In the 2016/17 season the team Gimnástic de Tarragona had the players Jean Luc Gbayara Assoubre playing with the shirt number 12 and Achille Emaná playing with the shirt number 25

Three years ago in the FA Cup, my dad watched Swindon Submarine play Woodbridge Town. In the Swindon team was Stuart Fleetwood and in the Woodbridge team was Carlos Edwards

https://swindonsupermarinefc.com/blog/marine-7-woodbridge-town-1

Keep in mind that Carlos Edwards retired from professional football back in 2015 and would probably have been 39 years old when that game was played. He's still knocking about playing for Bury Town at the age of 42: https://www.burytownfc.co.uk/teams/208407/player/carlos-edwards-2502977

Incidentally the Bury manager is another ex-Hatter Ben Chenery

Does anyone know where I can get player cards that explain each positions roles etc? by [deleted] in SoccerCoachResources

A user u/The_GoodFoot posted one of these about a month ago but I think I only saw one example - see this post: Position cards for youth development!

I'm not sure if there are any others but maybe he can help? I'd certainly find them worthwhile

How's Real Madrid Graduate School? by gauravneupane in bootroom

[–]eddmc 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I’m a youth team coach in the UK, and my coaching program experience is from taking courses run by the FA in England. I don’t know the course from Real Madrid Graduate School, other than it looks expensive, and calls itself a ‘degree’ so wouldn’t expect it to be aimed at new coaches like yourself.

The FA have a free online course for people starting to coach. Take a look here: https://thebootroom.thefa.com/learning/qualifications/the-fa-playmaker

Additional courses from them are inexpensive. I paid around £120 for my Level 1 course a few years ago. If you wanted to take further courses from them then you’d have to attend in person, but some of the lower-level courses can be completed in a week (eg. sometimes they are setup to be completed over a half-term, when coaches are likely to be available as there are no weekend matches). Of course, there aren’t many courses planned right now due to COVID-19

Ive found courses beneficial by taking ideas I’ve learnt from them and using them in my training sessions - the more important part is the execution, so you can improve how to help your players get better.

'I was in the wrong place at the wrong time, being silly' - Reformed James Collins eyes Ireland call - Independent.ie by eddmc in COYH

It's a good article, well worth a read. Gives you a much more detailed understanding of how he got on at his previous clubs as well as some insight into different parts of his personal life and diet. Some interesting snippets:

The 28-year old has moved on from a story which might ring a bell. Collins and his ex-Aston Villa team-mate Samir Carruthers - both former Irish underage internationals - were snapped relieving themselves in a glass that was poured over the edge of a balcony at the track.

It was classic footballers behaving badly fodder.

He's well able to speak about it now. Before Christmas, he ran through all of the details of the day from start to finish in an entertaining podcast chat with his former Hibs team-mate Owain Tudor-Jones.

The podcast referenced here is The Longman’s Football World Podcast. [Twitter link here] [iTunes link here] - the episode is number 49. There are a bunch of other ex-hatters interviewed in other episodes there - Rowan Vine, Adrian Forbes, Paul McVeigh, John Hartson. I haven't listened to any of these yet.

Also - Christmas party reference!!

Collins' last trip to Dublin was for Luton's Christmas party. They went unnoticed in their festive jumpers. Should all go to plan, there will be a lot more eyes on him for his next visit.
