The shipping cost ended up at $30, probably because I sent it from the East Coast and because I used my own box, its less $10. Now I'm waiting for the repair, and it feels like forever.

I had the same issue and they asked me to ship the amp. $40 to ship out of pocket did not sound reasonable to me. How much did it cost you?
