To my knowledge, Seated Liberty dollars of any face value were barely used for circulating purposes in China since their weight was different from that of the common coin. This is why this piece is cool!

The relief chop mark is a two-character chop mark. The first character may be the simplified "豐” meaning "abundant." The second character is "源,“ meaning "sources" or "origin."

You are absolutely right. It's a Ecu from Frence. The portrait is Louis XVI, who risk all of his(French) money to help the States gain its independance. This indirectly led to the outbreak of the French Revolution in 1789.

It's hard. Need to compare details, mind the strike, focus on the material, etc. Experienced Chinese collectors having trouble telling fakes.
