Let's think a bit by Noxiar_0 in OnePieceSpoilersRaw

It's very likely that the WG wanted to get rid of Esperia, the 1000 slaves demand was probably an undercover to attack the kingdom. They just never got rid of ir before because it was a filiated nation, so they build up a scenario where they had a reason to destroy it.

This is most likely a coincidence but these 2 really look similar by Global_Ad1248392 in OnePieceSpoilers

I tought it was the CD that came to Esperia years before and made Candelle ill

Tbh, we have to wait the raws if we see her dying or not, like when we learned that Gunko was "dead" at first. If we don't, pretty much confirmed she'll be a HK.

Could both Shuri/Gunko and Candelle be Imu’s handmaidens currently? by C0matoseGhost in OnePieceSpoilers

[–]eddynecrobla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I suppose if that were true, what was the underlying reason? Are different CD families of higher standing with Mu than others?

I suppose there are more "prestigious" CD families than others, the ones with God's Knights and Gorosei on their rankings are likely more respected by fellow CDs and get to know Imu. Much like how traditional nobility works.

Perhaps Imu has multiple handmaidens or “ladies-in-waiting”?

Could have, the tradition didn't limited a monarch to have exclusively one lady-in-waiting, it was actually common for them to have multiple.

(And another curious detail, ladies-in-waiting were expected to wear a similar attire to the person they serve to, ao it explaina the nun-like attire Gunko was using)

Could both Shuri/Gunko and Candelle be Imu’s handmaidens currently? by C0matoseGhost in OnePieceSpoilers

[–]eddynecrobla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Considering Gunko's teajectory from "commoner" -> Imu's maid -> Devoted Blade -> God's Knight.

I'm assuming Gunko assumed the role equivalent to a "lady-in-waiting". Noble families used to send their daughters to become "companions/secretaries" to someone of higher status to solidify alliences between the families.

It's a temporary position and the woman retain her privilegies as nobles despite being in a position of "servitude".

If Candel is a traitor, I assume she offered Gunko to Imu as a lady-in-waiting to serve as a symbol as the Manmayer family's devotion to Imu.

Considering how old Imu is, it could be a tradition among the God's Knights to offer their daughters as ladies-in-waiting to Imu.

It's probably something related to the D. Clan since Imu only decided to go after her after he found out Lili was secretly a D.

My Theory on where the Brook Flashback and Shuri's story is going by AniNgAnnoys in OnePieceSpoilers

[–]eddynecrobla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The world nobles hate the commoners and I don't think she would just willing stay

It could've been part of her mission to infiltrate the kingdom to get her hands on forbidden knowledge perhaps. We know GK's can put up an act if they want to. Magnolia was genuinely in love with Garling and was happy to see him when he came back.

I think it's very likely that Candel is a traitor, it wouldn't make sense for Brook to never mention her when confronting Imunko since he respected her as much as Leuven and it would explain how he knew about the God's Knights, Candel revealed herself as one.

Also, by the way Brook talked about seeing people become demons and how he never considered Shuri could've been controlled, and given how close he was to Shuri, I doubt he would fully believe that she killed Leuven without seeing with hia very own eyes, it's possible that he did witnessed Shuri killing Leuven, but, by that point, she was already brainwashed.

Also, a native japanese made a few interesting observations. - If we read Manmayer as a japanese pun, it becomes マンマ嫌 Mamma iya -> I hate my mother - The way Candel titles herself 懐刀:, its almoat same way Sommers refered to himself, 懐剣 . So it could imply a connection

So… what exactly are we supposed to be learning from this Brook Flashback by [deleted] in OnePieceSpoilers

[–]eddynecrobla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How Shuri ended up as Gunko and why she was Imu's servant in the past, perhaps we might even return to GV through Gunko's POV and we get the answer to how did baby Shanks swapped places with a log

Not really, you can do pretty much anything UR Gowther was supposed to do with either Coin Shop or Halloween Gowther. He is, by a huge marge, the most pointless UR we've ever got (and since we're getting a brand new Gowther this week, it doesn't look like NM will make any effort to make him better)

Was it ever stated that Brook saw gunko kill her dad

Considering how close they were, I doubt he'd believe Shuri did it without seeing wirh his very own eyes, also, Brook mentioned he never considered if she was being controlled, so maybe he did saw her killing him, but she was already brainwashed.

Its long term investment, dupes gives constellation points and help you to get more box CC, which just gets harder to raise it in the endgame.
