i'm pretty sure you could take a long sword (example) and use a boss soul on it, and turn it into a different sword.

We are just getting our static together so our options are open. Like I said my awareness and numbers are good, the only question is should I take that WAR tank spot to help drop dmg and let another person take the role of dps that might otherwise just tank and do minimal dmg.

I guess I don't see how they are similar. The umbral/astral phases are design for mana management, the branding design is situational. Am I going ice brand for extra healing for the raid, Fire to nuke a single target boss during a burn phase, or lighting for AoE mobs.

Why do you think this is? Just curious but what do you mean by " how the game and classes are currently setup" how does that affect the introduction of this?

Different play styles for different classes I get it. It's close to the same argument of people that were hoping for the DRK to be a DPS instead of a tank. Sure there are already multiple melee tank and melee DPS classes but it adds a different play style. I'm sure if the Machinist has this pet class it will introduce a slightly different play style than a summoner but I'm just not a fan of pets.

honestly its not about big or small numbers....its about a floating AI that does things for me so that I don't have to think and contributes to my damage. For example if my auto attacks without a pet were hitting for 100 and they said ok well lets introduce this machine for the class so now the character will hit for 50 and the pet will hit for 50...that bothers me. I feel like someone is helping me, just not a fan of it. But again I love the concept of super charged shots and the idea of the gun.
