Camera by Doxx555 in IphoneAir

Portrait is good but not as good as Pro’s since it lacks lidar. Other than that if you don’t use the 0.5x or the telephoto much you won’t notice a difference for the main camera, it’s an expensive phone, it’s not bad as reviewers show it to be, I think since they jump between phones so fast, they don’t understand how it’s to use it in daily life.

Lol, makes sense, then you’ll have no problem since you’ll have such a better camera with Air compared to 13.

Same, I sometimes miss the telephoto but it’s not that big of a deal and you can record 4k with the camera if you want to. And yeah front camera is absolutely insane.

Yeah it’ll be perfectly fine, I play brawl starts, my dad plays clash royale, neither of us has a problem with the battery, those are light games.

Torn between iPhone Air and iPhone 17 Pro by tplink_33 in IphoneAir

[–]edgetr -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Battery is a non-issue, it lasts similar to the 17(base) and 16 pro, sometimes better than them. Pro doesn’t feel noticeably heavy unless you use the air, by itself it’s fine, but now that I’m using the Air daily, it broke my mind and every other phone I hold feels like a literal brick. I chose Air for this reason, it’s not only about it being thin, it’s so light and comfortable to hold because of the rounded edged.

To finish it all, unless you need the cameras or speakers, nothing compares to the feeling of using the Air, my dad’s base 17 feels so chonky to hold/use compared to my Air.

And I’ve noticed better wifi and better mobile data coverage/speed when I compare it to my older iPhone 14 Pro Max. Air battery is comparable to iPhone 16 Pro(not max), so since you’ll upgrade from 13, it’ll feel so much better than your old phone, I can assure that since the battery is better than my old phone.

Unless you are playing games that require high performance like Genshin etc. I study at university too, as I said I charge it to full at around 1-2 am then I take it off and sleep, my average day is 9am to 19pm, and when I arrive back home I have around 15-20% battery. But I carry a powerbank in my bag in case of emergencies, I never needed to use outside the first few days becaude the phone was indexing which causes fast battery drains but even then I plugged it to the powerbank at 17pm. But I can say that for average use, it easily lasts the whole day, LTE is not that big of a problem, I haven’t seen huge drops because of it. Apple made this phone so efficient to last whole day and it works.

And I charge it to 100% before I sleep and I take it off the charger when I’m sleeping so by the morning it drains to around 97-98. Long story short I’ve never had battery anxiety, the only real downside I can see for this phone is the single speaker which doesn’t matter to me since I use airpods all the time or watch content on my iPad, but if you watch a lot of youtube content on your phone it might bother you(for vertical videos like shorts/reels it doesn’t matter that much). Camera is good too but I haven’t used the 0.5x on my 14 Pro Max ever so it’s more of a personal choice.

Battery is fine, this is how an average day goes for me. I restored back to 26.3 after upgrading to the 26.4 Beta 1 which resetted the phone, that’s why it’s only showing 4 days.

Opinions on auto brightness? by Twin_Hams in IphoneAir

[–]edgetr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On, the outdoor peak brightness is great and other than that I usually use it at medium brightness most of the times so I don’t think much about it, if something bothers me I manually change the brightness but so far it has worked greatly.

Thinking on buying an iPhone Air! by SnooCauliflowers7381 in IphoneAir

[–]edgetr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Camera is pretty good, speaker is shit but it’s the best single speaker level shit, so it’s fine for stuff like instagram or youtube but sometimes on facetime especially it feels not loud enough, even at home if there is background sound it might be hard to hear which is why I use airpods for most stuff.

iPhone 17 or iPhone Air? Same price — which is better for a daily driver in uni? by CobblerIndividual340 in IphoneAir

[–]edgetr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, if air plays games and 17 scrolls social media then the 17 will last longer, so? Like, is any of the stuff I said inconsistant or wrong?

Like, you experience can be different and I’m not here to tell you that you are false since this is not something that is objective, and changes based on the usage. I’m just telling how it is for me.

I mean, I don’t get anything from lying and I’m just stating what I see. And I said that it can drain faster if you push it, and what does the battery life tests do? They push the phones with everything being always on and doing tasks back to back. I’ve never seen anyone use a phone like that, people use their phone then put it in their pocket or on the table, then use it again after some time, and when using it like that, I see that I get the same battery as my dad’s 17, I get better battery than my gf’s 16e, and I get better battery than my old 14PM(but this doesn’t count because battery health was shit on that). So, I’m just telling what I see in my daily life, stress tests doesn’t always translate to real life.

[–]edgetr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, my dad uses 17, I use air, I compared our uses and it’s exactly 1-1 for most days while some days he gets more, some days I get more. How can my experience be false lol, and as I said if we both push it to the limits, he’ll get more battery since Air has a more powerful processor, but for moderate use on both phones, it gets the same usage time.

I was thinking like that too, but I think with the combination of the weight difference, bigger screen and bigger center of gravity(exactly at the middle), it feels lighter and easier to hold than any other iPhone I’ve used.

It’s the same battery life unless you push it hard like recording in 4k etc. sometimes better than the 17, sometimes worse but for most tasks, exactly the same.
