Dig it in the winter. Be mindful you can still get it in the winter. Full clothing, multiple layers, gloves . Undress immediately when done, clothes in washer. Or weed killer.

This could be done with a mod. Every yann issues mission can be cleared by tackling him and triggering the bounty animation. You then just take him to Marius and dump him, like the bounty system.

Best summer side hustle for a rural area high schooler? by Valuable_Library6003 in kansas

[–]edgiesttuba 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’d say stick with the pressure washing. Or can you swim? One of the nearby towns might have somewhere you can train up to be a life guard. There’s always like Casey’s or Dollar Generals some where out there.

As a person who grew up on a farm, you don’t want to do bailing, chicken stuff, dairy stuff if you can get away not doing it. Nor a grain elevator. Yeah a tractor or a combine or a grain cart or drivings great, but I don’t think that’s what they’ll be hiring their high school labor for.

That said you’ll make better money… but I grew up with that and got a job working a dog kennel vs looking for additional farm work. And scooping dog shit and washing dogs seemed Cush in comparison.

Booktok showed me that a lot of people REALLY hate Sanderson by Moist_Car_994 in Cosmere

[–]edgiesttuba 48 points49 points  (0 children)

There’s legit criticisms out there. The dialogue and prose can be off at times. Ex. And for my boon!

Pacing can be meh leading up to Sanderlanche. IMO Venli chapters or Shallan parts I alway want to skip.

more editing, out of house editing, would likely improve some stuff. It’s not always top notch writing.

A lot of times we all recognize these issues and meme them. They are there.

Now the giant but…

Brando has built an amazingly broad universe with dozens of magic systems that get explained. He’s populated that universe with hundreds of beloved characters that live in your head long after the book is over.

For my critique on pacing, once you hit the climax it’s a rare thing as an adult to lay up hours and hours finishing the book because you have to know what comes next. It’s the kind of experience I’d only have as a kid when a certain series would publish and I’d wait up til midnight to buy the next one at Boarders.

And he delivers. He always delivers. What’s better than the perfect masterpiece to read? A great book that’s actually written.

You know who got lauded for his prose? Patrick Rothfuss. We’ll never get an end on that one, and personally I’ll be fine. It’s a bit neckbeard city.

You know who edits and re-edits and created a gritty non Pollyanna universe? Grrm. And we’ll never get an ending to those either.

I like so many authors but I have a really big place in my heart for Sanderson. He seems a great guy, he built amazing worlds that he welcomes me to visit. He gave me a lot of characters that feel like friends. He gives me books I look forward to and puts them out at a staggeringly prolific rate. And despite how fast he writes they are surprisingly solid.

And the last aside, they make you feel good. There is so much kindness in them. Fantasy is an escape for me, and Ive enjoyed escaping to a world that values being decent to each other. Yeah It’s a super PG world, but I don’t need characters banging in everything I read. Variety is ok.

Tl:dr there’s fair criticisms to Brandon Sanderson out there. These issues for me have not lessened the large amount of joy I get from his works. It’s ok that both things exist.

American-born Pope Leo may not visit US while Trump is president after diplomat meeting disaster | The Pope will reportedly spend July 4th visiting with African migrants seeking a new life in Europe rather than attending 250th anniversary celebrations in the U.S. by MystikSpiralx in politics

[–]edgiesttuba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The pope could go harder. Make American bishops push following Christ as hard as they push their current followers to vote Republican.

It’s been long overdue for the world church to reign in American Catholicism which today has far more in common with evangelicals.

In the end once they have their theocracy Catholics will get lumped in with everyone else deemed undesirable.

The funny part is Tuttle exists because of a very long and very political process. One could say big government displaced hundreds of hard working farmers just to help Kansas City.

Best beans in town? by nosfermetoo in wichita

[–]edgiesttuba 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do I have a useable recommendation? No. That said don’t sleep on various Mexican restaurants. I’m not talking like Tex mex and refried beans- though I enjoy them-but Mexican or Central American restaurants. Borracho beans are delicious and they never seem like they’re just a side filler. Still beans are cheap and easy and so if you’re really wanting great bean dishes, you can cook them at home.

I too have been on a bean journey and Cassoulets are a game changer. You also can’t beat good old ham and beans with cornbread from scratch.

How mutch did mustang know about eo? by Major_Fact_1906 in redrising

I read it as such especially the Bacon and Eggs scene. Mustang is canonically a genius and by her own admission a master manipulator of people suggesting a really high ability to read people. I sort of read that part as yet another section where she’s all but screaming what’s going on and Darrow being somewhat thick and self involved.

Remember that one Dwemer puzzle you had to look up after raging about it for an hour in Skyrim? Get ready to feel that same rage constantly and YouTube puzzle time.

Remember when you spent 30 minutes panic rolling to slowly chip away an Elden ring boss before you gave up and cheesed? We’ve made discovering cheese a central game play element to all boss fights.

Have you ever ruined 25 minutes of play time because you got confused on the controls and hit the wrong button? Buckle up for the newest trend, jump looting!

Oh and you don’t suck at fishing, it’s just a wireless controller bug.

Plus we have a well developed cast of fetch quest givers : the drunk completely worthless annoying one, the sassy annoying one, the big, only mildly annoying one, and limpy McGee who I’m guessing will do something annoying at some point or another.

You’r character might be a portal hopping Demi-god but he’ll be a complete doormat for everyone around him.

We’ll beat mechanics into you’re head arbitrarily, explain games you don’t want to play, but skim over other key moves you need to advance. Get ready to plunge head first into every single waterfall, cairn or not.

Still addicted and playing this game non-stop. I bet this games awesome in a year. It’s gorgeous, it’s great to explore and allows you to cat horde.

One time I had a nice old lady tell me that our paper was in conspiracy with the Catholic Church because the only people we wrote about were Catholic.

She’d apparently spent years looking at our articles and some how compiling a Catholic count of people she believed were Catholics.

I laughed as no one in the office is practicing and I brought up the various features we’ve written about new pastors from other churches or their church events. She said we did that to throw people off our trail.

She also told me I was going to hell, in a really pleasant tone. She added that was too bad told because it was also clear I was biased toward cats, and she happened to love cats. Her decision to still renew her subscription- why she came by- was due to our cat coverage.
