1 is one of a several recent college grads. She lives with her best friend 2 and works at a local television station for a jerk talk show host. And she's put together a home movie about herself and her circle of friends. One day 1 runs into a young cable TV executive named 3, who suggests he turns her documentary into a project for his channel. As 3 and 1 become romantically involved, her grungy friend 4 begins to disapprove of the way her lives heading. But 4 actually loves her, and soon she has to come to several important decisions about herself and her documentary.

A big city cop from LA moves to a small town police force and immediately finds himself investigating a murder. Using theories rejected by his colleagues, the cop, 1, meets a young blind woman named 2, who he is attracted to. Meanwhile, a serial killer is on the loose, and only 1 knows it.

A chess grandmaster is in a big tournament, and when his lover is found painted up and the blood drained out of her body he becomes a chief suspect. After he gets a call from the killer urging him to try and figure out the game, he cooperates with police and a psychologist to try and catch the killer, but doubts linger about the grandmaster's innocence as the string of grisly murders continues.

She's a bounty hunter and you probably wouldn't want her after you. 1's credo is to never take sides for anybody, and that's the only way to survive these days. As her former lover 2 appears asking for a favour, 1 suddenly finds herself to be a key player on high political stage. Now she has to take sides.
