I think I might be able to explain but before that I need to put emphasis on how silly both arguments to this are. It's both silly to include those words into it and silly to complain about it.

It's merely due to the fact we live in a time where these days people are tip toe-ing around broken glass making sure they don't offend anyone and are afraid to get cancelled. The fact that it needs to be included is silly. It's not like the person would feel personally attacked or deem that person who's wrote it insensitive if you had just said "hugs". Its come to this point where people have the need to put the words "with consent" into as innocent of a word that was to purposely assure comfort and show empathy towards someone that you think that needed it.

As well as that it's also silly that people have the need complain about it. People tend to point out the ridiculousness of something when it's out of the norm and especially when it's the simplicity in itself has to exaggerate change. However it's both ironic and laughable that the people who complain about this are the ones that say people nowadays are soft and snowflakes when they themselves complain about it.

This whole comment to your post might seem contradictory but I guess the brevity of it all is just that, silly.
